The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama is set in the grounds of Cardiff Castle, bordering one of the largest and most beautiful parks and rivers in the UK and is a world class centre for hosting performances, conferences, events, dinners, meetings and weddings.
Our £22m suite of venues includes the magnificent Dora Stoutzker Concert Hall (200 - 394 seats), the intimate Richard Burton Theatre (182 seats), an exhibition gallery and a stunning three-storey high glass atrium and open-air terrace overlooking the Grade 1 listed Bute Park set in the grounds of Cardiff Castle as well as the historic Anthony Hopkins Centre, the original Cardiff Castle stables building, with a stunning open-air courtyard.
For your wedding, the College is one of Cardiff’s most sought-after locations. The first is the stunning castle stables building with its historic open-air courtyard and beautiful tree-lined entrance with Cardiff Castle in view. The second is the magnificent, three-storey high, glass-walled hall and open-air terrace overlooking the park – a fabulous back-drop for photographs, champagne reception and evening party. The hall leads on to an outstanding concert hall and theatre, perfect for a ceremony with a difference!
Our professional in-house technical team can provide specialist audio-visual, lighting, sound, film and audio recording services and there is access to wifi throughout all out venues.
Our highly recommended in-house catering company can provide the full range of conference, meeting, dinner, event and wedding catering requirements from refreshments, hot and cold buffets, drinks receptions and formal banquets to suit all budgets. The contemporary park-side foyer and open-air terrace can accommodate up to 200 delegates for banquet-style dining or up to 400 delegates in a buffet configuration.
As a creative venue, we can arrange for singers to perform before your guests, a trumpet fanfare at the opening of your conference, a pianist to play during your drinks reception or a jazz or classical music ensemble to create a sophisticated atmosphere during dinner.
Whilst car parking at the College is restricted to Blue Badge holders only, there is a pay-and-display car park adjacent to the College which is free after 6pm. There is further pay-and-display parking available throughout the Civic Centre opposite the College on North Road and charges apply. In addition, there are a number of multi-storey car parks in the city centre, 5-10 minutes’ walk from the College.

What a well run event on 14th October 2024 an Audience with Pino Palladino. The manager deserves a medal! Sound in the auditorium was superb.
