Britains largest cathedral in all of its glory. What a majestic masterpiece of architecture it is. Built in a Gothic style between 1904 and 1978. It’s 101 metres high. Free to enter (donations accepted) and absolutely worth a visit. Just as breathtaking inside as the outer architecture. Overwhelming amounts to take in, such as incredible stained glass, wall & ceiling carvings and multiple different halls to walk around.

What a stunning building inside! Absolutely gorgeous example of its kind. Stained glass and a temporary exhibition were enjoyed whilst listening to the Northumbrian Chamber Choir rehearse ahead of performances that day. Free entry with a donation is delightful and I was glad to pay. Would highly recommend.

It's such a fabulous piece of architecture! We loved our visit so much, and it is one we will remember for years to come. It was really great and very large (we managed to spend a full hour here). My only complaint would be the modern art displayed here. It is nice, and I definitely see how some would adore it. However, the pieces were quite large and rather intrusive (they were mainly bright red) as they did not fit the general theme of a cathedral. Personally, I feel like it would be better in its original format. With that said, the rest was stunning, and I would definitely return in the future.

The cathedral is certainly very large. The sheer size is worth going to see. Being relatively new (by European standards) it doesn't have the gravitas of the older cathedrals but tries to engage interest by having thought-provoking sculptures dotted around the building.
