Liverpool Cathedral is a breathtaking masterpiece of architecture and spirituality, standing proudly as one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. From the moment you approach its towering exterior, you’re struck by its grandeur and the intricate details of its design. The interior is equally awe-inspiring, with soaring ceilings, stunning stained glass windows, and an atmosphere that is both peaceful and uplifting. The sense of history and artistry in every corner is truly remarkable. Walking through the vast spaces, you can’t help but feel a sense of wonder and tranquility. One of the highlights is the incredible tower, offering panoramic views of Liverpool and beyond. It’s well worth the climb, as the sight of the cityscape stretching out to the River Mersey is unforgettable. The cathedral often hosts exhibitions, concerts, and events, adding to its vibrant and welcoming community spirit. The staff and volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the history and significance of this extraordinary building. Whether you’re drawn by faith, history, architecture, or simply seeking a moment of quiet reflection, Liverpool Cathedral offers an unforgettable experience. It’s a place that leaves a lasting impression and is a must-visit when exploring this vibrant city.

Spectacular. Better inside than out. The outside looks austere and somewhat lacking in charm. It's only inside that one can appreciate the feel of the building. Constructed in the early 20th century, it lacks the ornamentation of older cathedrals but it more than makes up for it in the impression of space. The central area feels huge. It's the only building in which I've experienced vertigo looking up. A few minutes walking around dispel the initial cold, impersonal feeling given by the dark red blocks and visible mortar. The restrained decorations & hangings and the subtle lighting give warmth to the interior. The well stocked gift shop is placed discretely and incorporated sympathetically into the main building. All the staff were chatty, helpful and eager to answer questions and impart information. Highlights for me were the main tower, the whispering arch and the font. Apologies for the slightly wonky pictures. I had to shoot quickly to avoid tourists.

Very nicely maintained and beautiful cathedral, showcasing finest architecture and great Ambiance. Lovely feels of history and overall great vibes. One of the jewel in Liverpool Landmarks..!! You can go on the top of it for city viewing as well for a ticket, otherwise its free. Parking is also available on site and prices are adequate too.

This cathedral is the 8th largest in the world , the architect Gilbert Scott has really gone to town with this building. Huge in every way it gives the impression of a much older building. But there is something that feels more railway than religious in its design and it misses the mark for me.it is free to go in, which if you have walked uphill from the docks you are grateful for . Equally a cafe and toilets are also most welcome. A must see , even if it wasn't to my taste
