The teachers over the phone are useless. If you don't pass both Maths and English you might as well not even go to Bolton College (unless you somehow have got the ambition and will power to resit). My dad called the teachers for clarification regarding whether I have to do Maths or not (baring the fact that it is the November resit and that means revising again after me revising for six months from January to June for my GCSEs) and two teachers gave us two different answers. WHERE'S THE CLARIFICATION IN THAT? We ask for explainations in a simple way and they make us much more confused than before. It's a joke. I would not recommend this college to people who have not passed both Maths and English.

My daughter originally accepted a course and on the day of enrolment she was told it had changed. The college had known for weeks but only decided to inform students on the day of enrolment. So my daughter went for her second choice. On the first day of the course they were told the course had changed. Honestly you couldn’t write this rubbish! Communication with this college is terrible. Trying to get through to someone/ anyone is like trying to get a one to one with the king. The college does not respect or care about the welfare of the students, they are all about funding and getting the books balancing. Please consider talking you child somewhere else.

Wow, what an experience this was I completed my course in Maintenance, Installation and Repair as one of the first students to do so, when I did my practical exam I did everything fine with the tutors supervising me and at the end was told that I’d definitely passed multiple times. The exam results came around with me confident id passed because I didn’t do anything wrong and saw it said that I was absent for 2 papers which we never did and Unclassified for the course, This was in august and I tried to call the college and couldn’t get through for weeks, when I did the office put me on to exams to talk me through it and it took a week to get on to exams and when I did they said they will look in to it and call back and they never did. So i eventually got through to my department of the course and head of the course said that I’d failed but I did nothing wrong in the exam so I said can I get a remark or something and he said no. I then messaged city and guilds and they said that I CAN get a remark and I’ve filled out complaint forms and sent emails to college and no tutors, offices or head of departments have got back to me. I’ve now give up and my time has gone to waste. I messaged my tutor from that year and said this and he said “my advice would be to take the resit” and I said “ok but what did I do wrong” and he never replied to me (this was on his personal phone number) the exam in itself was done not properly with the tutor saying he will do it his way and he helped us when not supposed to through the whole exam, I’ve now been marked as a fail when all I did was find a fault on a car and fix it doing nothing wrong and have been done out of a qualification. I’ve never seen anything so wrong! Do not attend this college or do this course because it’s one big shambles and life wrecker. All the lads did the exact same as me and I’m sure we all got marked differently for sure. I know this because the tutor said everyone did the same things and I even did my exam with one of them I’ve never failed any sort of exam ever. I did what the tutors told me to do through all of it and it’s a fail, nothing to do with my end. The best anyone got in the first year was a D as well. This says a lot
