We spent 3 days at this hotel and loved it. The staff were all very friendly and made us feel at home. The rooms and hotel in general were very clean. Although some parts of the hotel were a little dated this was made up by the great atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable and we had a great view down the valley. All was very clean, there was plenty of hot water and the bed super comfortable. There were several events during our stay and these didn't bother us at all. In fact they added to the ambience. Lovely garden/patio where we enjoyed sitting out until dark with a beer each night. Lovely English breakfast buffet each morning served in the dining room. Well recommended!

Beautiful old hotel, set in some lovely country. Great views from the beer garden across the valley. Enjoyed the traditional room experience. Meals were good, staff very friendly. Tea making facilities were above average, even got biscuits replaced as required. Only problem we had was the amount of stairs, as the wife has a bit of trouble walking, but it is an old building, so you'd expect that. She didn't mind, as the rest of the stay made up for it. We were sorry to check out.

Absolutely stunning hotel and landscape Beautiful part of Bath Room was spacious but even after an upgrade was basic. We were in the attic and it was warm! The bathroom made unholy noises after we flushed the toilet The restaurant was straight trash I had risotto that was swimming in oil and overwhelmed by garlic. We didn't eat there again except for breakfast which was decent enough Friendly staff, Beautiful historical building and gorgeous views. Not really a place to take a walk, nor is there any amenities nearby. We had to order a cab to a restaurant 5 miles away

Delightful old hotel situated in beautiful place but a total nightmare to get to with A36 road closed with busy narrow lane diversions all around. Quality, imaginative menu created by head chef, pleasant staff and quirky, interesting rooms modernised within aged buildings. Dining rooms accessed by small flights of stairs, bar areas flat access. Lift or grand staircase available to access upstairs bedrooms.
