Lovely venue and excellent staff. We stayed for 3 nights and were upgraded to four poster bedroom which was lovely. We had a package which included breakfast and dinner on the first night. We were allowed £33cper head for this dinner. However, the choice was from a special and very limited menu. The food portions for this particular package were very small which we felt wasn't fair and definitelynot worth £33 per head, no way! The Paté and Chutney I had were not homemade and the chicken I had was a little tough and stringy. Veg served was a very small amount. This was our only main gripe because the rest of the venue was very good. Breakfast was ok with an average choice of hot and cold foods. After being given such a small amount of food on out first nights dinner we decided to eat out for the other nights. We would have eaten in the hotels restaurant every night if the dinner on our first night was much better. Hotels loss there? The spa, gym and pool are fantastic. The golf course looked great but were not golfers. The grounds around the hotel are big and very nice. Be warned that this hotel is a big venue for business meetings and this means that sometimes at lunchtime the restaurant is packed with meeting members. It was on our first day so again we had to go out to eat. Some other things that need improving are: The stairs carpets are very worn out. I recommend that the owners just change the stair carpets to complement the floor carpets. They don't need to match. The patio slabs or stones outside the back of the hotel are black with mould and covered in lichen. These need a powerful power wash to bring back the lovely colours of the stones. The large mirrors in the dining room could do with a good clean. The wifi signal does not reach some areas in the hotel especially the furthest points away from the wifi repeaters in the dining room and bars. Please fit more wifi signal repeaters. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Set in a stunning location, this hotel offers beautiful grounds that are perfect for relaxation. The food is of good quality, with a varied menu that satisfies. However, the rooms could use some updating, as they feel slightly dated. The spa facilities are fairly good, though a few enhancements could make them better. Overall, it's a charming place with room for improvement, ideal for a peaceful getaway. Kosta and his team were amazing and made dinner a pleasant experience!

I think this is a 3 star hotel that was once a 4 star. On the whole the service was excellent but there were individual waiting staff who seemed to not want to be there. Some staff were very good and wanted to correct mistakes or speed up slow service. The building is just a little tired. The rooms were clean and comfortable but the bathrooms could do with a revamp with some peeling paintwork and old fittings. The pool is lovely but again some bits looked a bit tired. The spa pool was out of order which was a little disappointing. Food at dinner was good with a good selection. Breakfast was excellent with the hot food topped up regularly. A good idea to have tea and coffee self service as it meant we could have lots. A nice place for an overnight stay buy could do with polishing up the attention to detail.

Be great if it wasn’t a 1995 hotel trying to operate in 2024. Very shabby, rooms dreadful ( where do I start) bar closes at 10 unless you register a card with reception which they don’t advise you to do, in which case it’s 11. Room keys !!! Don’t keep next to keys, phone, any credit card, basically anything at all. We were given a room a good walk from reception so when 4 times in one day we had to get card re calibrated the patience ran out. It’s got a lot going for it if the owners spent some money on it but otherwise I’d strongly avoid at all cost. I’d never stay here ever again. Premier Inn in town is a far better prospect.
