I went here with my daughter yesterday. My daughter was hungry, and they happily provided the food a little earlier than the time the kitchen was open, and it was amazing food! Not only I was new to the area, but they also helped me locate some local necessities. Very friendly and kind service.

A lovely pub with a ton of character, fantastic service and. Incredible food. The whipped goats cheese starter was light and sweet, perfectly put together. The Hatchet short rib burger is one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The whole burger is a very well made standard construction (albeit with nice mustard mayo added), but the meat itself was juicy, cooked perfectly and had incredible flavour. The sticky toffee pudding was also just an exceptional version of a British classic. The staff were all down to earth, friendly and attentive. The Old Hatchet is now my ‘go to’ for good, honest, delicious food in Ascot.

I visited the pub for the Shakespeare in the Garden event (which was briiliant) and ate beforehand. My friends enjoyed their food but sadly my fish was burnt, the mushy peas small portion and cold and chips I doubt homemade. Ale was fine and service was excellent
