Since its launch in 2008, Gianfilippo’s Bottega Prelibato has established itself as a firm favourite for authentic Italian food and an intimate, lively atmosphere in the Shoreditch Triangle.

The restaurant serves up seasonal, mouth-watering dishes ranging from a platter of oozing burrata and salty-sweet Parma ham to a comforting bowl of hand-made pappardelle with a rich wild mushroom sauce, washed down nicely with impeccably chosen Italian wine.

The deli is a treasure trove of artisanal cured meats, organic vegetables and fresh snacks, whilst the art gallery is a constantly changing exhibition space that plays host to exciting and emerging Hackney artists.

Basically, we keep it simple and tasty: a formula the Italians definitely approve of.

Somehow remember this place better. But last time was 10 years ago. The food seemed pretty average to be perfectly honest. Maybe because there are some other nice places in the area now. Staff are friendly. Service was good. Easy to get a table with walk in on Sunday lunch.

Service was really slow. They frequently forgot to get things such as cuttelery and Parmesan. The food took more than an hour to arrive. Several times they brought a plate of food and asked if it was us who ordered it as they had forgotten which table it was for. Some things are worth waiting for but the food was just good not great. The neighbouring table did not like their food so this might not be the case for everyone. While they were apologetic for the service problems they did not offer any explanation or indication that there were extenuating circumstances.
