Carlton George Hotel, Windows Restaurant

Staff were lovely, but tired, shabby room. Flat pillows and a bottom sheet that would not tuck under the mattress. Our dirty window overlooked nothing, looked like a prison courtyard. We paid nearly £280 for two nights, room only. Definitely not worth half this price! Air conditioning did not seem to be working, and after our first night Gavin sent someone to look at it. It was fixed but we couldn’t put it on and have the tv on at the same time it was that loud. I could not fault the lovely Gavin, but we will be going to Premier or T. Lodge next time. I was very disappointed as I had bought this for my husband’s birthday.

do not go here if you are vegetarian, vegan or muslim! they served us ham sandwiches with our "vegetarian" afternoon tea went here for afternoon tea on the rooftop, a regrettable experience all round. we requested a vegetarian afternoon tea and they served us ham sandwiches, views from the rooftop were obstructed and not that great, and multiple food items were stale. not impressed at all, especially considering the extortionate price we paid. really, I really can't overemphasize how massively over priced this was. not worth the money for the food or the experience. do not go here. that said, staff were lovely.
