Pynes House is the perfect location for an exclusive, country house wedding. Set it in its own 37 acre park in the gorgeous Exe Valley, but only three miles from all the convenience of Exeter. Believed to be the inspiration for Barton Park in Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, Pynes House is now inspiring couples for their perfect wedding day.
With a number of magnificent State rooms and capacity to seat 90 in the elegant Ballroom for a sit down meal or many more for a marquee wedding in the beautiful grounds, Pynes House makes the ideal year-round private retreat. During the summer, make the most of our manicured lawns, ornamental terraces and pretty woodland, and in the winter enjoy the cosy romance of our beautiful interiors, stunning views and open log fires.
Luxurious accommodation is available in 12 individually styled bedroom suites so couples and their guests can make it a wedding weekend, rather than just one day.

August 2024Elegant and sophisticated, the Pynes house was the setting for my cousins wedding last weekend. The venue is gorgeous, with beautiful grounds overlooking tumbling hills. Everything was perfectly manicured. The staff were all very helpful and friendly (they might have been outside caterers - Pickle Shack - but if they aren’t recommended by the venue then they should be). Awesome time!

July 2024Our guests were blown away by Pynes House, it was so lovely on the day to hear their overwhelmingly positive experiences of staff and the surroundings. Everyone in the team worked exceptionally hard to bring our vision to life. Many of our friends have spoken about stressful they found the process of planning their wedding. But my husband and I felt totally supported by the whole team at Pynes, through every step of planning to the day itself. Jay the drinks manager was so helpful and accommodating with our bespoke requests. The team at Pickle Shack created an outstanding menu and the service was fantastic. We must also mention Phoebe from Pynes House, who made us feel some welcome and whose timeline for the day meant that we didn't feel like we needed to oversee anything.

June 2024We had the best weekend at Pynes House for our November wedding. Communication from Kate & Heather was excellent and it really was a stress-free process. Phoebe (events manager on the day) was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. The house and grounds are beautiful and we felt so at home during our stay. Honestly could not fault the venue. We feel so lucky to have had our special day at Pynes.
