Lovely hotel, will definitely be staying here again. It feels nice and remote yet still fairly close to edinburgh city centre. The grounds are well maintained. The food here is nice, we had breakfast and dinner here and both were reasonably priced and tasty. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We did have an issue while staying here and they were extremely accommodating and understanding.

Booked this for my boyfriend’s birthday and they upgraded us to the junior turret suite which was absolutely amazing and huge! ☺️the staff had some balloons put in the room as well as a happy birthday card, All of the staff were very very helpful and kind with helping us, The restaurants were also very good. We absolutely loved our stay!!

Was only here for a night so perhaps my take may be a bit slanted. We stayed here for its close proximity to the airport, we were flying out early the next morning. The rooms are pretty standard, nothing special for being a resort style property. The beds were also pretty uncomfortable for my wife and I. We did eat at the Brasserie restaurant and the food was decent but not great by any stretch, reminded me of a more golf clubhouse style restaurant that you’d maybe get food after a round of golf. To be fair, we didn’t have time to try the other, fancier restaurant on property so maybe that one would have been better for what we were looking for. Nothing really around the hotel at all, if you don’t have a car, you’re going to be fairly well stranded. The pool/spa area was actually very nice, pretty large and easily walkable from the rooms. Gym had a good volume of newer equipment so another plus for this hotel. The 3 stars I gave was primarily due to a less than impressive room and the isolation of the resort from anything nearby. It’s a good 10-15 min drive any direction to get to anything especially if you’re planning to be here for more than a few nights. If you’re planning a golf trip, I imagine this place is a bit more your speed for what it is, as for staying here again to just be near the airport or staying close to Edinburgh, I’d likely search for another hotel.

Was ok. We stayed with our 2 year old son for just one night in the hotel, and I have to be honest and fair, we expected a little bit more for the price we paid for a superior room. On arrival we asked for a second bed, since we booked for three people and knew we wouldn’t fit in a queen size bed. Our request was met. Staff was friendly. The room itself was very small, had everything we needed, but was not as clean as I would expect it from a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was also disappointing. Not many options, bacon chewy, eggs didn’t look like eggs, and nothing healthy, like fresh fruit or yogurt. Just toast, no variety of bread, cheese or anything. The hotel is very old, in a way cozy, swimming pool was okay, but I’ve seen cleaner and more spa like hotels before. All in all, it was ok for one night, but I wouldn’t stay again. Not very family friendly, maybe more for older generations.

Booked for my boyfriend’s birthday as looked stunning online. Staff friendly but the stay was not worth the money and I’m shocked this is a 4 star hotel. Booked the classic double room, but it was actually just two single beds pushed together. This is fine as you’ll find this in most places, but they are usually secured together to make a double bed… these ones weren’t. Literally two single beds, made up as single beds with 2 duvets, on wheels, shoved together so they split so easily in the middle and constantly moved around. Not the best nights sleep. Then onto possibly the worst breakfast buffet I’ve ever had at a hotel. The eggs were clearly powdered, the “cooked” tomatoes were still raw, bacon was so tough, potato scones like cardboard, baked beans were decent but how hard are they, mushrooms were fine, and haggis was “ok” according to boyfriend. I’m sure this place would be lovely for a wedding, but to be honest, a Hilton would’ve been much cheaper and much nicer to stay in.
