Had my wedding reception in merlot room. Lorraine and her team were great and the food was lovely (cream tea evening and buffet). Very flexible with our decorations and food choices as I didn't want a set sit down meal. Allowed me the full day before to decorate and staff tidied everything up for us to clear out the next day. Gave us a really nice large room, although think the shower may have been leaking through ceiling to below as staff came to ask us if we were using the bath/shower. But otherwise, amazing experience!

We recently stayed at this hotel for a weekend, and while there were many positive aspects, there were also a few drawbacks that prevent us from giving a full 5-star rating in the room section **Pros:** - **Location:** The hotel's location is fantastic. It's conveniently situated near a variety of restaurants and just a short walk from the beach, making it an ideal spot for dining and leisure activities. - **Room Amenities:** Our room was well-equipped with a kettle, iron, and hairdryer, which added to our comfort and convenience during the stay. - **Staff:** The staff were very gentle and did their best to accommodate our needs, which we greatly appreciated. **Cons:** - **Lack of Air-Conditioning:** One of the major downsides was the lack of air-conditioning, particularly on the 3rd floor. The room got quite hot, and although there was a fan provided, it was insufficient to cool the space adequately. - **Ventilation Issues:** The window in our room didn't open much, making it difficult to get any cool air in, which compounded the heat issue. - **Room Maintenance:** The mirror light in our room didn't work, which was a minor inconvenience but notable nonetheless. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, primarily due to the hotel's prime location and friendly staff. However, addressing the issues with air-conditioning and room maintenance would significantly enhance the guest experience. With a few improvements, this hotel could easily achieve a higher rating.

Hotel was very pleasant and the staff were lovely. There was a bit of a odour of dirty mops in the reception area tho. I was rather disappointed in the spa. It was dark and dingy and to be honest the water didn't not look appealing. You had to hire the dressing gown and there were no slippers provided. The beauty therapists were excellent at their jobs and I can not fault them, but they were agency workers and things were a bit disorganised, as they did not know where things was kept. The evening meal was excellent, but the breakfast was not so good. we had a enjoyable break, I would stay here again, but I would not use the spa, Also they should think about getting a lift to the spa, as it was down steep stairs. And having sauce for ice cream dessert would be good 🙂

I booked a room at this hotel two weeks in advance, expecting a smooth stay. Unfortunately, upon our arrival on Saturday, we were informed that there was a system glitch, and no rooms were available for us. We were left on the street without any immediate solution or assistance from the hotel staff. This experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. We received no alternative accommodation arrangement or compensation for the inconvenience caused. The lack of customer service and failure to address the issue left us stranded and stressed. I strongly urge the hotel management to investigate this glitch and ensure it doesn’t happen to other guests in the future. I also recommend potential guests to confirm their bookings multiple times or consider alternative accommodations to avoid such situations. Overall, this experience has greatly affected our perception of the hotel, and we hope the management takes steps to improve their booking system and customer service.
