From the previous reviews, I thought it would be a total dump! Was pleasantly surprised that it exceeded my expectations as a 3 star hotel stay. Beds were comfortable, rooms were tidy, no hairs. No surprises. Shower spilled out on floor but plenty of towels provided to mop up. Front desk was a proper job, courteous, efficient and friendly. Thanks!

Convenient location super close to the main train station & shopping area. Lovely staff at reception. However, the hotel is outdated & did not feel safe, even in my room. I don’t think it was unclean but it was very grubby given it’s in serious need of a refurbishment. As others have said it is noisy & even though I am a very solid sleeper I had a terrible night.

You get what you pay for I spent 40 quid because my train was cancelled. Electrics were hanging out of the wall and I could hear my neighbour breathing through the extremely thin walls. It’s obviously not going to win any awards, but since I only spent £40 I have no right to complain. I’m only writing this review to let people know what it’s like. It had a bed and a TV that worked, so that’s all I needed because I was up early. Perfect for a last minute stop off but only if you’re super low on cash. No complaints about the staff, but I didn’t really have any interaction with them.

This place is in need of some refurbishment. It looks very old fashioned. It had recently been painted when I went so the whole place smelt like paint which wasn’t pleasant. The walls are paper thin, I could hear noises from the rooms around me and from outside which woke me up on several occasions. The mattress was a little uncomfortable and I also almost fell off the bed. The location is great, it’s right by grand central station. The staff were nice too.

Would never stay again. Strange smell on walking into the room. Booked by work as the cheapest option clearly. No restaurant, placed on the second floor can hear everything both next door above and right opposite the door to the stairwell. Rooms are outdated and need deep cleaned. TV remote with electrical tape holding it together and batteries as old as anything. Can hear next door banging around with paper thin walls. Poor cleanliness, attention to detail and needs massively modernising. I can sleep anywhere but hardly slept.
