Hawksmoor Edinburgh is located in the beautiful former National Bank of Scotland Banking Hall, a Grade A listed ‘building of national importance’, a short walk from Waverley station, Princes Street and just off St. Andrew Square. The 165 cover restaurant has been sensitively refurbished to celebrate the building’s original landscape and it features two private dining rooms that can accommodate groups of 13 and 46 diners. Both spaces are private, whilst looking into the restaurant, and are ideal for friends and family feasts, wedding parties, business events, celebrations or pure pleasure. In Edinburgh, Hawksmoor draws on the amazing produce that Scotland has to offer, featuring seafood from around the Scottish coast and beef from grass-fed native breed cattle from both sides of the border.
Our McLellan private room takes the name of one of the greatest Scottish artists of the twentieth century, Sadie McLellan, who created the etched windows that surround our building. In them she pays homage to the industries of the bank’s main customers: agriculture, fisheries, shipping, architecture, education, engineering, weaving and printing. McLellan room offers intimate dining and hosts up to 13 guests around one grand dining table. A room perfect for birthday celebrations, team lunches and special gatherings

Cancellation Policy • If the booking is cancelled 3 or more calendar days before the time and date of your booking you will be refunded in full. • If you paid by card, we will process a refund to the credit or debit card with which you paid the deposit. If you paid by BACs we will refund the deposit back to the account with which you paid the deposit. • We will process the refund within 72 hours of receiving the request. Once the refund has been processed, please allow up to 10 working days for the money to reach your credit institution or bank. • If the booking is cancelled within 3 days of the time and date of your booking, we will retain the full deposit/charge cancellation fee and no refund or credit will be issued.

April 2024Since relocating from Chicago to London, we have encountered difficulties in locating a reputable steakhouse. Subsequently, we reached the conclusion that the United Kingdom predominantly favors chicken and lamb as opposed to beef. However, our first assumption was incorrect. This restaurant offers some of the highest quality steak available. As an enthusiast of steak, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered a medium rare fillet and it was cooked flawlessly. Perfect crust on the outside, while the interior is pink, tender, and succulent. The hospitality and warmth of the staff members was exceptional. My daughter experienced a mild cough and was unable to consume any drinks. However, she was provided with a ginger-infused drink, which she thoroughly relished. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

June 2024WOW !! What an incredible experience from start to finish. Grant looked after us all evening and was an incredible server. He went above and beyond to make sure our experience was incredible . The food on the whole was amazing and you couldn’t fault one little thing. However, the service truly made this experience for us both and we would 100% return. My best friend had her birthday and he brought over two cocktails for us both to enjoy and celebrate to a fantastic evening. Another gentleman chatted to us towards the end of the meal and he was also very friendly. As a restaurant manager myself, I am extremely impressed with the overall experience of Hawksmoor and couldn’t recommend it any more. Cheers!

July 2024**Restaurant Review: Hawksmoor Edinburgh** I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hawksmoor Edinburgh, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the steak, which was cooked to perfection and truly to die for. Every bite was a testament to the quality of the meat and the expertise of the chefs. The service was equally outstanding. A special shoutout to the gentleman from Missouri, whose warmth and hospitality made the evening even more memorable. His welcoming demeanor and attentiveness were greatly appreciated and added a personal touch to our dining experience. In addition to the incredible food and service, Hawksmoor Edinburgh offers great value for money. The portions are generous, and the double spirits as standard were a delightful surprise. It's clear that this restaurant prioritizes both quality and customer satisfaction. Overall, Hawksmoor Edinburgh is a must-visit for steak lovers and anyone seeking a top-notch dining experience. Highly recommended!

June 2024We arrived up from the Port of Leith Distillery by Tram. We entered though the hotel and were directed to a table at the back wall. To the right hand side there was a young couple on a budget, then were joined by a regular to our left. We were offered water and the waitress to time to explain to us how the menu worked. We ordered our first bottle of wine and this was brought to us. We ordered our food. The starter arrived and we ordered another bottle of wine. The food was excellent as you can see. We were intrigued by the table in front of us, a group of 8 Japanese. We marvelled at the service they received and the regular sitting to the left of me decided to comment. We were asked to vacate the table at 9.00pm although between chatting and eating were not quite ready to leave. We were granted a further 20 minutes and concluded our meal.

April 2024Our food was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly. We got scallops, ribeye, potatoes, spinach, and sticky toffee pudding. Our steak was very delicious and seasoned well. The sticky toffee pudding was really tasty but we substituted the clotted cream with salted Carmel ice cream which was a match made in heaven.
