Hawksmoor Edinburgh is located in the beautiful former National Bank of Scotland Banking Hall, a Grade A listed ‘building of national importance’, a short walk from Waverley station, Princes Street and just off St. Andrew Square. The 165 cover restaurant has been sensitively refurbished to celebrate the building’s original landscape and it features two private dining rooms that can accommodate groups of 13 and 46 diners. Both spaces are private, whilst looking into the restaurant, and are ideal for friends and family feasts, wedding parties, business events, celebrations or pure pleasure. In Edinburgh, Hawksmoor draws on the amazing produce that Scotland has to offer, featuring seafood from around the Scottish coast and beef from grass-fed native breed cattle from both sides of the border.
The Tellers’ Room is an elegant light-filled events space seating up to 46 diners. It is in a Grade A-listed building of national importance, with beautiful proportions, limestone walls, original window settings, natural light, reclaimed parquet flooring, and leather-bound seating. The space is ideal for hosting birthday parties, corporate events, special occasions, wedding parties, business events, celebrations, or casual standing events. The venue offers feasting on sharing menus, allowing guests to experience Hawksmoor classics and a range of different cuts. The space can be tailored to suit various requirements, from feasts of grass-fed native-breed beef and sustainable seafood to wine tastings, expertly crafted cocktails, and canapes. The Tellers’ Room is private, while looking into the restaurant, and is perfect for hosting friends and family feasts. The space is also suitable for hosting events such as wine tastings, expertly crafted cocktails, and canapes.

December 2024The food was absolutely fantastic, but the true highlight of our visit was the incredible kindness of the blonde-haired lady who works there. It was pouring rain, and we were completely soaked, but she went above and beyond by giving us her umbrella and wishing us a happy new year. 🥹❤️ This simple act of generosity turned a rainy day into the best part of our Edinburgh trip and gave us one of the most memorable New Year’s gifts we’ve ever received. Thank you so, so much for your kindness! ☔

November 2024We love Hawksmoor! We've eaten at the ones in London and Manchester several times, we have also eaten at the one in New York and Dublin. You are highly consistent with your food, service, venues and charm! We dined at Hawksmoor Edinburgh on 5th November for my Birthday. The gent on Reception gave us a warm welcome and was very friendly, we had a good chat on the way in and way out! It always sets the mood that you're in for an enjoyable evening. We were a little early so opted for a drink at the bar which was nice, the guy behind the bar again very friendly. We then moved through to the dining room and was seated near the open kitchen. We are creatures of habit and generally always order the same thing and it never disappoints! We normally go for the early bird set menu which is a superb deal! We both had the Yorkshires and Potted Beef which is an absolute must to try! We then both went for the Fillet Tail with Beef Dripping Chips, I had Bearnaise and he had the Stilton Hollandaise Sauce. There is sadly never any room for dessert which is never a bad thing. Everything was cooked to perfection! Cannot recommend this Hawksmoor or any Hawksmoor enough. The venues are always special, the staff caring and attentive, without being intrusive and the food is absolutely amazing!

January 2025We visited Hawksmoor Edinburgh after having a meal at Hawksmoor NYC the night my now fiancé proposed to me. We had such a wonderful experience in New York we had to visit the Edinburgh restaurant. We had a table for 5 o’clock which is when they reopen for dinner so it was very quiet when we arrived, we were sat in a separate closed off section from the main restaurant area which was lovely, however as time went on the restaurant filled up and there wasn’t a spare seat by time we left. The service was great, our waitress was friendly and we were taken care of very well. I wanted to start my meal with some olives which they don’t have on their menu but our waitress was kind enough to ask the bar for some and they were presented to me beautifully! The food and wine were great too. It is expensive but worth a visit. We were then lucky enough to get some seats at the bar after dinner & our friends joined us for a drink before we left.

October 2024We had our Sunday roast here and it was one of the best we have had. The Yorkshire pudding was tasty and the beef tenderly cooked. The service was excellent and the vibe of the place was enjoyable as well. A classy location but casual and inviting. We also ordered a salad which again was just right from a freshness and flavour perspective. Highly recommended!

October 2024Traditional Steakhouse in an impressive atmosphere. The steaks are good but I already had better ones but you definitely can go there if you want a good portion of meat. It is a little bit too loud which makes it hard to really have a relaxed dinner but the service was outstanding
