May 2024We had afternoon today in this wonderful hotel. Steeped in history with bags of character. The food was absolutely excellent All freshly made with quality ingredients. The staff were excellent too, welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable about the fascinating history. There was a wedding when we were there and it looked so impressive, what a great location and venue and the outside space is perfect for stunning photographs. Thank you Walworth Hotel for a wonderful afternoon. We will be returning and I highly recommend this venue.

April 2024I have to say without a doubt the best customer service I have ever received in a hotel. It felt like I knew each employee who I spoke to, and we were made to feel extremely welcome. We had a lovely stay. The rooms were clean and well presented. I would definitely stay again and next time I would book two nights rather than one, as the time flew by really fast. Thank you

June 2024They turn off the heat to the hotel instead of letting individual rooms control it even when the temperatures are around 10 Celsius at night. However, the service at the hotel is fantastic and we were quickly delivered a portable heater that pushed the heat out and kept us warm overnight. The hotel is beautiful and the dungeon is really interesting with escape tunnels. Do note that the rooms in the annex are not well insulated so you will hear your neighbors.

May 2024Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days at Walworth Castle Hotel. Excellent communication from all happy staff. Superb food, quality and amount. We ended up returning for dinner each night because we were so impressed. Location was perfect for us, in countryside but close to Darlington and Durham we needed to visit. Only criticism room seemed a bit tired and bathroom had a musty off-putting smell. We expected standard room in annexe would not be over large. Requested ground floor room due to mobility issues and this was provided. - Addendum Breakfast coffee was sup par and to be avoided. We understand policy is to use local suppliers, but in interest of keeping coffee at same standard as food, this needs to change.
