We stayed here on 10th January for 1 night. We had dinner booked in one of the pods. It was a cold night but the pod was heated so we decided to give it a try. We ate the starters and main course in it but went inside the bar area for dessert. The food was delicious and our server Zeke was very helpful and friendly. All the staff were helpful and we would definitely stay here again.

Could not have wished for more! Lovely little dog box on arrival serving as a dog bowl for our trip contained a toy, pooh bags and some treats. When asked if her food could be kept in a fridge, hotel staff immediately delivered a mini fridge to our room which was perfect! Staff were all extremely helpful and cheerful ... there was always a broad smile from everyone from the cleaner to the waiting staff to the receptionist. The barman, Luke, Tina in the restaurant and the receptionist whose name I am ashamed I can't remember, were all just amazing in their cheerfulness and helpfulness!! Absolutely the only thing we would have like and did not have was sockets beside the beds to keep phones to hand and on charge overnight!

We stayed at the Mercure Gloucester, and it was such a delightful experience! The hotel is in a beautiful setting, and our 4-year-old daughter was convinced she was in a little palace. She loved it so much that on our way home, she asked if we could come back – and trust me, she’s a hard-to-please 4-year-old! The warmth of the hotel on a freezing night made it feel so cozy, and we felt completely at ease. We opted for the breakfast and a family room, and it far exceeded our expectations, especially considering the budget. The surrounding area was equally charming – the calm, winding river nearby adds to the peaceful atmosphere, and it’s such a lovely spot to enjoy a meal. Overall, a fantastic experience for families, and we’d absolutely return. Highly recommended!

This hotels delivered quite and peaceful stay and most delicious buffet brekkie! We stayed in a superior room where the views on the grounds are stunning and running river across the hotel makes it extra tranquil. Relaxing bath before night combined with “night tea” was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

Beautiful setting in acres of parkland. The staff are friendly and to us were helpful. The hotel itself is a little run down with threadbare carpets. There are no lifts (elevators), though there is a chairlift to the first floor. The food is average at best. I had the roast pork which was very fatty and greasy. My wife had the steak pie, which was nice, but the vegetables were cold. As we arrived, a disabled lady who had booked a room as she was attending a party in the hotel was told that the room was not available and that the best they could do was to offer a room at a different hotel that was 10 miles away..
