A grand grade II listed building, set in 12 acres of beautiful countryside, Mercure Gloucester, Bowden Hall Hotel is 18th century period venue, steeped in History.
The hotel is located within easy reach of Cheltenham and Gloucester and has plenty of parking onsite, making it ideal for travelling guests. We also offer 72 bedrooms so your guests can relax and enjoy the celebrations before an overnight stay.

We are able to offer you wedding exclusivity as we only accept one wedding booking on any day making sure that our venue feels even more special on your big day.
We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies, allowing you to spend your whole wedding day in one location. We have a choice of stylish rooms for as little as 2 guests and a maximum of 200.

July 2024Large solid building in beautiful grounds. No lifts for guests to use however staff offered to take luggage to the room. Very well maintained interior’s, no cracks, walls and wood work in good order. Restaurant meals had to booked but it was no trouble and the restaurant was never crowded or too busy. Overall a lovely stay.

September 2024This is a beautiful hotel set in gorgeous grounds. The staff were all so helpful and friendly too. We had an evening meal and the Hake dish was totally delicious. Not far by car is Tewkesbury which is worth a visit - it has a beautiful abbey. I notice this hotel does weddings and I think this would be an idea spot.

August 2024Stayed here for a few days and was super impressed with everything. The property was beautiful and a had a lovely drive up to it which was a nice touch. I was greeted by a lovely lady called Soveiga and I must tell you she is an absolute credit to this hotel. Her service her smile her can do attitude is something you don’t find easily. No matter what the issue was she went above and beyond and to deliver exceptional service that is second to none. We travelled with elderly guests and one in a wheelchair plus kids. Although we faced challenges she ensured she made our stay as relaxing and easy as possible which helped us a lot. My daughter has her own milk and she went and got me a mini fridge for the room and I cannot thank her enough. She was such a joy to speak to. The hotel rooms were cleaned very well and although dated ever so slightly it was a very beautiful building with lovely grounds. I definitely would recommend staying here and for the price it is definitely worth it. There was good parking outside including disable bays and the there were no noise issue despite there being coach of guests and a wedding party.
