December 2024for the spa only: wide variety of facilities (including a superb shower with multiple different modes), warm and spacious hot-tub and a heated pool. the staff were also informative and helpful and the building layout was easy to get used to and to top it off there was a garden area to detox even more before the session ended

December 2024We had a lovely stay for our daughter's 21st birthday pamper and I'd go back in a heartbeat. We were really well-looked after by a bright and sparkly team for which nothing was too much trouble. The Spa facilities were great. The pool is super, as are the surrounding steam room, sauna and jacuzzi....all of which were used ! Our daughter had a massage and came out as relaxed as we've ever seen her - no better testament than that ! *************** The picky bits.....and please don't let this stop you going, as there are so many positives about this venue...... Well, in my opinion, rooms would benefit from mini-fridges, although ice-buckets were given 'no-fuss' at the bar as a second-place option. Windows out on to a lovely view need a clean and the webs removed to restore said views to their magnificent best. Our bathroom in Room 203 needed a little maintenance - the plumbing and finish under the sink isn't what you want to see sitting in the bath..... And while on the subject of the bath, the hot tap in the bath was at such a low trickle that running a bath wasn't an option until I decided to use the plastic waste bin insert to transfer water from the basin hot tap (which, unlike the bath tap flowed plentifully and rampantly).....but one really shouldn't have to be so resourceful at a place like this....

December 2024Very good, good decor, friendly staff, but somehow they just miss that "wow" factor, which is a pity. Food again is competent but just misses the wow factor. The breakfast menu is excellent with options like eggs benedict or florentine included, but full English is a very reasonably priced extra.

October 2024We stayed 2 nights for a wedding at the Hotel. The room was a big disappointment. There was an extractor fan on the large flat roof out side our room which was right by our window. We had to keep the window shut all night and it was still very loud, As a result the room was very stuffy. Tea/coffee tray was inadequate Hardly any milk low quality coffee and only 1 hot Chocolate. There was paint peeling on the Ceiling and a dirty dressing table chair. The Bathroom was clean and the Bed was comfortable would have been better if earplugs was supplied. The service was good and the food was good. The wedding and reception was run efficiently. I find it difficult to see how this is a 4 star hotel. A bit of updating is needed.

October 2024Attended a family event, nice staff although they didn't all give consistent answers to questions. Small check in desk - expect a significant delay if a few people are there. Rooms tired but functional, beds not that comfortable. Bar on the expensive end. Food very average, breakfast was very busy so things like eggs came out over cooked. Room bill a discretionary service charge added I knew nothing about - Come to think of it, I wasn't shown my bill - but it felt about right so didn't query it - doh!
