February 2025The location is peaceful, and the scenery was stunning. It is lovely for spa and quick getaway. The staff in the spa, hotel, and restaurant were superb. They were so helpful and welcoming. I would definitely come again the future. The building has historic as well as modern features. The spa is so calm and enjoyable.

March 2025We did not use the rooms only a function room. This was ideal for our needs. The staff supporting this room were polite and helpful. The carpark could do with a little work as there were some sizable puddles across walk areas. We loved the location, close to sizable town/cities but with a real rural feel.

February 2025Nice place to stay for one night with my wife while visiting our youngest son in Bristol. It is an old building so allowances have to be made regarding certain things in the room but the staff were all really good. We even got a room upgrade after say the view in our first room was not so good! Did not dine there except for breakfast which was okay. Also we did not use the spa facilities which were inclusive with the room.

March 2025The hotel its self I fine, rooms are basic but comfortable. The down side is the bar service. Sometime I have been stood waiting for a drink for 20 min before anyone even turns up behind there. Another issue is food, although taste is not the issue the size of the portions compared to cost is small, it cost me £4 for peppercorn sauce after paying £30 for the steak, however the sauce came in what can only be described as a child's jug from a playset.

February 2025Stayed here as part as a company trip. The welcome in the hotel was amazing, the rooms were beautiful there wasn’t anything we could fault on the hotel side of things. However when we entered the spa this is where things started to go down hill. The spa manager was really welcoming however the rest of the staff treated us differently to the rest of the other clients visiting the spa, we had paid an extra fee to stay longer so we didn’t expect to be treated so poorly. The lady at reception reluctantly gave us robes after we asked for them so we could sit and we could grab a snack in the cafe. The woman at reception made a comment towards us telling us to “make sure we bring them back” implying we wouldn’t give them back! Again we were met with the same reluctant attitude in the cafe, totally understanding there’s reservations that needed to be catered for first but we found that the way we were treated put a dampener on the whole experience. We found ourselves leaving a little earlier than expected because we felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome. We’re not sure if it’s because we are a bit younger than the clientele they usually welcome but either way we paid extra so we expected to be treated with the same respect.
