Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa, Exclusive Hire

We recently enjoyed an overnight stay at Thornton Hall Spa and Hotel. The hotel itself is lovely, and the spa is well-maintained. We were particularly impressed by the exceptional service, especially from the young gentleman at reception. He was incredibly helpful and welcoming, even going the extra mile by taking our bags to the room while we enjoyed a drink at the bar. The bar boasts an extensive and impressive drink selection, and service throughout the hotel was consistently excellent. The intermittent WiFi might be an issue for some guests, but it didn't significantly impact our stay. Overall, the excellent service and comfortable amenities made for a enjoyable experience.

I expected so much better. We arrived and first got told our early check in wasn’t available, but as soon as I told them I paid it they sorted it. I paid for a birthday package, we get into the room, no package. The Surprise ruined for my other half, although they did rectify that whilst we were in the spa but that isn’t the point as I wanted my other half to see it there at the time. Spa itself very busy being a health club at the same time which would be okay if the hygiene in the changing rooms wasn’t messy. Finally the TV in the bath didn’t work either, which we rang about and got told it’s something they know about and can’t fix it. I’ve paid £300 (£30 refunded) for one night, ordered in food and a drink in spa, so costly for what? Terrible service, terrible package delivery and unexplained bills in my account. Breakfast was nice thankfully but we will not be coming again which is sad as we had high hopes. To have robes, check in, birthday package cost up to £100 by itself and not any of that be given as a refund is a joke. No sorry, no we will give you half back, just unacceptable. Please if you book in the future make sure you ring and double ring to make sure any extra package you buy is ready to go in your room! Frazer
