Our extensive knowledge is based on the decades of experience that we have. Every wedding at our venue is unique, and we aim to help tailor your day to suit your wishes and requirements. Our team is on hand throughout the entire planning process to help suggest as much, or as little as you require. We have great links with suppliers, and even have our own venue dressing service available.
At Thornton Hall, our Executive Chef as devised menus that are both popular and elegant, and are created with locally sourced produce wherever possible. He would be delighted to hear your thoughts and create a unique menu for you and your guests.
The Hall is licensed for civil marriages, ceremonies, same sex marriages, and civil partnerships which can all take place within every one of our suites, the Garden Pagoda and Lakeside Arbour.
Combined with our gorgeous landscaped gardens that are in the heart of the Wirral countryside, we really are a venue for all seasons.

December 2024Stayed on my husband's birthday. We were looking for a quiet break with no fuss. Thornton Hall hotel is in a lovely rural location but close enough to the M53, Liverpool, Chester and the nearby villages of Heswall and West Kirby. The hotel staff were welcoming, the room was comfortable,clean and well equipped and use of the spa was an unexpected pleasant surprise ( I had forgotten it was included in the B&B rate!). Very good value. I'd love to stay there again.

October 2024Recently stayed st Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa with a group of ladies from Barley WI. From checking in we were made to feel welcome. The room was spotless and well presented with a selection of teas and coffee plus a couple of biscuits. I was on the first floor. Visitors with mobility issues book the ground floor as the building doesn't have a lift. Bed big and comfy. The spa was lovely and spacious with a 630am opening. I found a visit to the pool, hot tub, steam and sauna and snow cave a great way to whip up an appetite for 8am breakfast. The staff at breakfast were amazing... polite and attentive. The bar and restaurant staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble.. thank you definitely a return visit is on the cards. A special Hotel in a fabulous area.

December 2024Nice spacious bedrooms. Good customer service - always greeted with a smile at reception and do their best to always provide a good stay. Spa facilities are lovely and always a great bonus! Food is yummy. Breakfast is decent with good service.

September 2024I recently attended a wedding at Thornton Hotel and Spa, Liverpool, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The venue offers stunning views, creating a beautiful backdrop for the occasion. The hall was spacious, accommodating the guests comfortably, and parking was convenient, which made arriving and leaving hassle-free. While I didn’t enjoy the food as much, I believe the catering was external and not representative of the hotel’s offerings. Apart from that, the venue itself is quite impressive, and I would recommend it for events.

November 2024We stayed for the B&B offer with spa access. Considering we paid less than £150 for 2 people to have B&B, plus spa access. You can't complain. The spa isn't what I'd call a spa. It's a leisure room with a pool, 1 indoor hot tub and a sauna /steam room. The pool area needs more beds. There were only 12 beds available and around 50 people using the spa. Overall our stay was pleasant. I'd recommend a stay here if you want a night away without breaking the bank.
