Always a pleasure staying here, while the building and one or two of the rooms aren't great for taller people low beams are part of the character. Never have any issues, staff are very friendly and helpful, good choice of drinks, menu always varied and portions - if anything a little to big, had Chicken and risotto last night and lamb the night before both absolutely amazing. Breakfasts offer a good choice but for me it has to be eggs benedict, perfect runny yolks every time and sets me up for the day. Lovely "Village" pub with a warm welcome

We were lucky enough to be upgraded and enjoyed our stay overall. Staff were very friendly and efficient and the breakfast was delicious with good service and hot options to suit everyone. The room was spotless, modern rustic style with well sited power points, lights and mirror. We had both a bath and and excellent walk in shower, coffee machine and even cold milk. The bed and linen were super comfy. Our one improvement would be the pillows, my ears literally hurt as they seemed hard and lumpy which was a shame. I will never understand why guests bang their room doors closed, the yale locks gently close no problem. We really appreciated the portable fan/cooler after what seemed the hottest day this year. The hotel exceeded our expectations and well done to all the staff!

Do not eat here. Picture attached is the Sunday lunch. The menu optimistically describes the beef as 'served pink'. Unless I've lost the ability to see - that's false advertising. Some of the beef inedible owing to its being cooked so far past pink it's entered the realm of boot making material. 'Seasonal veg' served with it (July). Unclear if I've been transported to November with the accompaniments here. 3 roast dinners ordered. Minimal eaten. Complained at the time - wait staff then proceeded to ignore our table for the remainder of our sad stay here. Not cheap - not good - not coming back
