Stayed here on a travelzoo deal which was great value for B&B with cream tea on arrival. This hotel ended up being cheaper than staying at a central Premier Inn . The staff were very polite and service was first class. The waiter who served us in the lounge with our fresh warm scones, jam and clotted cream in the lounge is a credit to the hotel.

Lovely stay here staff very friendly and helpful close to underground station and within walking distance of museums breakfast and cream teas very good will definitely stay again only gripe was the size of the lift for the amount of rooms it serviced.

We really wanted to like this hotel, since it sounds good on paper. The location is great (close to tube station, on mostly-quiet residential side street), and the building looked like it had tons of character. It also was one of the relatively-reasonably-priced places in the area. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with our experience. The room: Small and poorly-designed; we stayed in a room with a king and two twin beds, and only the twin beds had a view of the small TV (which requires a switch to be flipped on to operate, which the front desk didn't tell us until we called). The bathroom light bulb was flickering - the front desk sent somebody up to change it. The beds were so hard - maybe one slight step up from a military cot. There is no air conditioning. There are no real amenities in the room. We could only find one power outlet (at the desk) - nothing near the beds. We could hear people walking above us clearly. High ceilings and passable bathroom though The building: The front is currently covered in scaffolding. The elevator is small - you can barely fit 1 person and a suitcase inside. It was very slow when it was working - and it stopped working twice during our 2-night stay. We got our steps in thanks to that, since it forced us to walk up a bunch of floors. Carpet is thick, so your suitcase wheels might be hard to maneuver. The lounge/bar room is classy. The street it's on is mostly quiet at night. The service: Employees were friendly, though they seemed forgetful. They forgot they had checked us in for breakfast once. We told them we wanted a late check-out and they agreed, but our keys didn't work when we got back to our room before checking out, forcing us to walk down the stairs to get them to re-activate the cards (since the elevator wasn't working). Breakfast was well-laid-out. We were happy with the location, but would not suggest staying here.
