February 2025I stayed here for one night only and it was absolutely lovely. Really nice and clean and very welcoming. I'll definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience 👍🏻👍🏻

January 2025The hotel is in a beautiful place. The reception (Mrs. Mary-Maryja) is a very nice person, very helpful. The hotel has delicious breakfasts and dinners, bravo to the cook. The service at the bar and during meals is very professional. The only downside is the rooms. A small renovation would be useful. The carpets in the bathroom are not hygienic, and there is often no water in the toilet!

January 2025Visited Astley Bank in early January. As a family we have spent many happy occasions here in the past, hence why we chose the venue for our two night stay. Location and the external look of the building still 5*. Such a shame the rooms are really tired. What was very disappointing the breakfast service stops at 9:30 on the dot. Friends actually arrived at 9:25 and the lady serving wasn't to happy. My wife and I stayed 2 nights and missed breakfast both days by 5 minutes, 9:30 is to early to stop.

December 2024When my company decided to hold our Christmas party here I went onto Astley Bank website and booked a room. A few days later I received an email from them telling me there was a Christmas function that night and they would happily offer an alternative booking if this was inconvenient for me. This is excellent service by any standard. When we arrived at the hotel the room had no heating, no hot water, plenty of cobwebs and a missing lightbulb. I went to reception to complain, 10 minutes later 2 men came to the room, felt the radiators then left again. 1 of them came back a few minutes later with a fan heater. We were paying £140 for this room. The bathroom was absolutely freezing. We found a brochure in the hotel that said the cost of a room, if attending one of their functions is £82 or an additional £20 for an upgrade to an executive room. I asked about this at reception and was told there was nothing they could do as I'd booked online. We sent an email to complain and were given a refund of £38. It might have been a good idea to mention the price deal on their website or when they emailed me. The entire experience was disappointing to say the least. We won't be going back, ever.

December 2024Location lovely Rooms need renovation and a good clean. The are old, grubby and not the quality you’d expect. Peeling wallpaper. Unusual bathrooms again dated. 3 out of 4 showers were very cool. Ask about this at reception, they said to run the water for longer. We did that (10 mins) and it didn’t work that time, but did later. Hot water should not be an issue in a hotel. Reception staff not particularly welcoming. Breakfast nice except the fruit which was unripe and consisted of only melon and red currants. Wouldn’t go back as the hot water issue seems to be a common problem in the reviews.
