Great stay for the price, lovely staff. We remarked on our departure regarding the convenience of the location, & that we would return. M&S food within spitting distance, nice spa, pool & gym, buses & trains within easy reach - conveniences you wouldn't get if you were in a rural hotel. Our 3 friends stayed & felt the same. Recommended.

Great experience from start to finish, well appointed and furnished hotel, run well, great service and excellent breakfast. There was always enough space four our large group, which isn’t always the case, and additional seating in the foyer while waiting for cabs is a nice touch, missed by many other hotels. Sadly didn’t have time to try the spa but saw many other guests enjoying all the facilities.

Spa is lovely although a little over crowded in the afternoon. Hot stones Treatment was amazing. Room was cold - apparently the heating automatically turns itself off every two hours. After 3 times of asking I had an oil radiator delivered to my chilly room. As for the room bed was lovely but bathroom was freezing and blind was broken - stuck down a third so at night I couldn’t roll it down for privacy or to stop the draft. Staff in bar and restaurant were friendly but don’t know what they were doing most of the time. When peppercorn sauce items wasn’t available - happy took my order and brought my steak plain - so not chance to repick. Some of staff struggled to understand drinks orders - they weren’t fluent in English in this instance. It was chaos - very low levels of politeness and customer service training. No ‘Good Morning’ at reception - didn’t even look up to greet me! I got ‘what’s your room number’ and she had no idea of all the problems I’d had during my stay. Management in their defence did off free drinks and meal discount but think that was more because I said I was gonna post this - not to learn annd correct these issue and help the staff and the systems to improve.

On entering, reception and surrounding areas very clean. The receptionist was very professional. And very polite. I was checked in and guided through all the usual information in next to no time. I was informed that my room was on the ground floor. And set off on my mission. Well, to say my room was on the ground floor was a bit of a stretch. As every so often there was a small flight of stairs. And before you know it. Your on the equivalent of first floor. And way into the distance. On entering my room. The phone rang and the reception was calling to make sure I had reached my room and if everything was fine. Or was she checking I had not died of over exhaustion. Or the need for a pack lunch as I had travelled to what felt like the next county. On reaching my room. All was well and good. Apart from the odd thing that had really seen better days. You pay a reasonable amount of money and expect the basics to function. Like the toilet seat to be on straight. The overly flashy shower to blow you away. How about putting more than the bare minimum amount of tea and coffee in your room! Telling me that there were 4 coffees in your room. Isn't strictly true. When you don't drink decaffeinated. You only have 2! So in short, penny pinching like so called lesser establishments. At this point, you could just save some of your hard earned. And book a more reasonably priced alternative. My evening meal was marred by a group of in the bar being loud and obnoxious. Around seven of them. With around 10 or so children ranging from around 10 to 16. All running around the bar. While people were attempting to relax. All having their evening meal and drinks spoilt by rowdy teens shouting and swearing. Congratulations for not approaching there parents and attempting to return some peace. Deep down you are not as good as your price tag might suggest. In my opinion, add another £30-50.00 and go somewhere as clean. Where they care a little more about the other 95% of the customers.
