Oh I loved it here I stayed for 2 nights, I only wish I did the spa treatment or brought a swimsuit with me! Staff are lovely and patient, very attentive and all smiles. The breakfast is well worth the £15 also. Only issue was finding a way there. It’s a bit of a journey if you’re not travelling by car, worth it though!

I thought the score doesn't give justice to the good experience we had here. Rooms are large and clean (yes, a few bathroom joints can be improved but all seems rather new). Breakfast is great and service is super helpful (taxi booking is very efficient). Overall it met our expectations. You need to know you won't be in Oxford though (40 GBP taxi to get there)

Two night stay gave me an emotional breakdown and convinced me to never travel again. I stayed in a mini suite on the ground floor for reference. Spent extra hoping to assure a comfortable room at a Hilton. Ancient spongy open-sprung mattress. Bedding with large holes worn into the seams. Ridiculously hot on the ground floor, the window and door only open onto an enclosed courtyard with no real breeze. Also I'm fairly sure every room in that courtyard must have heard me sat out there weeping last Sunday morning, my apologies. No or broken air-conditioning and comedically broken fans, I settled with the third one offered, that only made one annoying noise (it felt like a win at the time). Both chairs' cushions had been irreversibly damaged by the passage of posterior. The armchair's stain concealing pattern fabric was being pushed to its camouflaging limits. Excellent WiFi, best I've experienced in a hotel room, small solace at the time. There was a problem with the hotel electrical wiring to room outlets, the fans ran slowly in my room but were fine otherwise. My mum's room next door didn't have enough electricity to any outlet to power the kettle provided (tried three kettles) but I could boil one slowly in my room. This just seems unsafe and also seems like a known issue by staff. There was a contact lense on my rug and dust and debris everywhere that wasn't a priority dusting location (I made up priority dusting locations but I hope you get my point, I am not a hierarchical duster). Everything about the room was extremely run down and should have been replaced several years ago. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work, never came on to my knowledge which did not help with the temperature of the room. The stand alone shower had a large overhead head that was almost completely blocked with limescale. If you have a great shower in room 135 know it's because I spent a good while angrily but thoroughly cleaning both heads. The hand shower is very low so it naturally sprays water horizontally rather than vertically, thus creating a nice pool on the floor outside the shower. The bath panel was badly worn and damaged (photo). The tissue box was rusty (photo). The mirror was delaminating (photo) Sorry those are the only pictures. The toilet seat was shaped like a capital D, who signed off on this? The cotton shower robe was threadbare to a point where I question all of the hotels quality assurance. No self respecting two star hotel would offer something like this to their patrons. Worse shower robe of any hotel I have stayed at. Every part of the room was uncomfortable. We were told the hotel's Maintenance team does not work Sundays. So don't have a problem with anything in your room on a Sunday I guess. The staff that were there were great, friendly, patient, and would try to help. It was obvious though that they were at the mercy of poor management and cost cutting. The grounds are impeccably managed. However, while I was there I saw a large number of old looking static caravans in a massively overgrown section of land, shoulder high weeds and grass in places around them. This is where many of the workers at the hotel live and they don't even cut the grass for them. It literally connects to the grounds. I deeply disrespect the management of this hotel, just as they seem to disrespect their customers and their own staff.
