I came here with my boyfriend end of October, it was his first time visiting England. Hotel is in a brilliant location, however I don’t believe parking should be £5 especially with such limited spaces, it should be priority to look after your guests, which includes parking. Housekeeping never vacuumed, changed bins, changed cups or changed our bedding throughout the entire week we stayed which was disappointing. Not much of a selection at breakfast, but it was quiet and good enough, although i wouldn’t say it’s worth paying for. The room was very nice with a spacious bathroom and big wardrobe, staff at front desk were friendly too. Overall, I think if you’re looking for a short stay this a worthwhile hotel, but with the issues we faced, I wouldn’t recommend stay here for more than a few days.

The staff are generally helpfull and friendly at the Mercure Kings Hotel and a concierge in reception is very good at his job. Sadly this is without doubt one of (if not THE) worst hotels that I have ever stayed in. The room was disgusting, dirty, and extremely unhealthy. I have taken photographs of parts of the room that were the most disturbing. On the "windowsill" there was pigeon pooh, dead flys, and the lower part of a blind ( curtain), that also held a dead spider and parts of paint that had dripped from the ceiling when it had been "re-decorated". The breakfast was inedible, i wont go into detail.......... I could go on and on but it's not going to stop the sad and tired building from operating. And before I forget, the room I stayed in was called privilege (sic) being more expensive than the others. I can see ahead however, and feel that if the hotel was shutdown for 3 months, and money available from the owners, a lot could be done to bring this up to a reasonable standard.
