January 2025Been using this hotel on and off for a number of years and I always find it very conveniently located in the town centre. I don't really make use of any of their facilities as I just hardly coming to sleep but rooms are fine.

January 2025As I said, better than sleeping on the street in January. If it was may ,June I'd ruff it. No hot water, little tea, little sugar, no water had to buy it for godsake It was clean, warm, personally I wouldn't stay anywhere, you can't smoke ,it's all rules and regulations. But that's the childlike society we live in now. Pathetic.

January 2025i find it insane that the company Mercure would put their name to this. this is clearly an old hotel the Mercure company have bought and made a terrible attempt to refurbish it. it would have been easier to just knock it down and start again. the floors are creaky, hot running water is almost non-existent, old decor, old lifts, etc etc. there is no air con. the only saving grace (in the winter), was the radiator actually works very well. the only plus is that the guy on reception was very friendly and helpful, and the hotels location is close to the station. don't let the fact that is a "Mercure" hotel fool you. i'm very suspicious of the 4+ star ratings......

December 2024Stayed here a few times and breakfast has never been up to par but on this occasion it was even worse!! £30 for two people absolutely shocking. The room we were put in was on the third floor and right along the corridor which smelt of damp as did the room and was very small even though it had a double bed and single bed. Won't be staying again. Oh and they call some rooms privileged I can assure they aren't. The whole building needs a revamp.
