March 2025We were very happy with our stay at The Milner York. The location is fantastic, right next door to the train station, but far enough that you can't hear and aren't disturbed at all by the trains, and short walking distance to pretty much all the sites in York city centre. The hotel is beautiful and fairly well maintained. Rooms in pretty good shape, clean and well furnished. We would definitely recommend and would return to stay if we revisited York.

March 2025Stayed over Valentine's weekend, it was brilliant! The hotel is beautiful, perfect location next to the train station, but not noisy at all! Parked right outside the front door, check-in was smooth and welcoming. All the staff we interacted with were enthusiastic, polite and friendly. We used the gym and pool area, all facilities were clean and well looked after. The pool was nice and warm. Our room was lovely, huge bed, nice bathroom and facilities. We heard no internal noise at all. Breakfast was brilliant both mornings, loads of selections and were happy to cater for individual requests too. Will definitely come back at some point!

March 2025The Milner, previously the Palace, has had multiple changes in ownership and refurbishment over recent decades but is still a large, relatively high-end hotel in an excellent location adjacent to York Station. Good for conferences and business functions, with lots of space and amenities. I was booked in for a conference, so not sure about prices, but I think rooms are around £200 - 250 per night. This is probable what to expect for a hotel of this calibre, and compares favourably with London prices, for example. The wifi was good, and the conference dinner was nicely presented and good quality. Car parking on site, but at a cost of £19 per day. Gardens to the front and outdoor terrace, which I'm sure would be very pleasant in the summer. I'd certainly stay here again if I was in York.

February 2025Great room 102 fabulous view of York . Breakfast is help yourself fine for me but not for everyone. Staff were very helpful and dog friendly too. One little bug was in the massive gents toilets they need a plumber in sort out blocked urinals. Overall I'll stay again it's a big hotel might be problems elsewhere but my stay was good.

February 2025Friend staycation. Booked a suite for a bit of luxury as we were child free. Room really disappointing. We got a refund and changed hotels. The view wasn’t as spectacular as advertised. Suite wasn’t any larger than a standard room. Bed moved and creaky divan type. Mattress really hard. Decor needed refreshing. Cobwebs in room also. The building is beautiful and seating areas are lovely. Parking is expensive but available out front. Nice to go for a coffee but wouldn’t stay.
