Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Surrey village of Ripley, The Talbot stands as one of the country’s most storied and historic coaching inns. Boasting many period features from throughout its 500-year history, as well as the benefits of an extensive contemporary refurbishment, our 43 bedrooms stand alongside extensive meeting and conferencing facilities, in addition to summer gardens and a large terrace.

Conveniently located just 30 minutes from Central London, The Talbot was once a frequent hitching post for Lord Nelson, and is even said to be the site on which his love affair with Lady Hamilton blossomed. Nowadays we are known as one of the foremost inns in the region, retaining our position as a welcoming site for weary travellers, with a cozy bar and outstanding restaurant.

The Wisley Suite is our largest room and can hold up to 80 guests banqueting or 120 theatre style. This room also comes complete with an integral LCD projector with screen and an AV system.

Popped in for a quick stop. Didn't know what to expect as never been before. Very elegant place but they really made us feel welcome. Good coffee to.

A lovely hotel that has some beautiful history. Rooms are clean, bed was comfortable and service was excellent. Breakfast was very good and great coffee too! Dining area was pleasent and had outdoor seating too. Lovely area for the evening to relax and have a drink. Very cosy and clean. Would absolutely stay again!

The room was good but a bit tired, needed some colour on the walls. Staff really lovely and helpful. Good super and breakfast. Really handy for place to stay for rhs wisley visit 😀

My break to The Talbot Inn in Ripley, Surrey was a lovely relaxing time. I stayed for 2 nights and the room had everything that I needed. The staff were very welcoming and friendly which in turn allowed me to de-stress totally. I had the Afternoon Tea one day and Dinner in the Restaurant on the other day. Breakfast was complimentary with the booking and I can say that the food was lovely each time. In fact I look forward to visiting again soon.

Came for afternoon tea, restaurant was nice enough but service wasn’t great the person serving when asked what was on the 3 tier stand didn’t know the cakes as there were ‘new things’. They never bothered to come back and confirm. When asked for our drinks I asked for a latte but was told they don’t do them or cappuccino only do coffee in a cafetière, I have never been to a restaurant that doesn’t serve standard coffees! Seems like they are lacking basic staff knowledge.
