Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Surrey village of Ripley, The Talbot stands as one of the country’s most storied and historic coaching inns. Boasting many period features from throughout its 500-year history, as well as the benefits of an extensive contemporary refurbishment, our 43 bedrooms stand alongside extensive meeting and conferencing facilities, in addition to summer gardens and a large terrace.

Conveniently located just 30 minutes from Central London, The Talbot was once a frequent hitching post for Lord Nelson, and is even said to be the site on which his love affair with Lady Hamilton blossomed. Nowadays we are known as one of the foremost inns in the region, retaining our position as a welcoming site for weary travellers, with a cozy bar and outstanding restaurant.

Just off our courtyard area, the Victory room is just right for a corporate meeting or private dinner with a connecting breakout area. This room can hold up to 30 guests.

Popped in for a quick stop. Didn't know what to expect as never been before. Very elegant place but they really made us feel welcome. Good coffee to.

Went here for a late lunch today with my partner and our dogs; staff were immediately welcoming and helpful and we had the costs lounge space all to ourselves. The staff brought the dogs some fresh water without even being asked and told us how to order drinks and food. The food was utterly stunning, my partner had the best fish and chips ever and the dessert menu is a whole new level. Beautiful place, would highly recommend!!

What can we say? We had our small wedding of ten people at The Talbot on Saturday and it was absolutely amazing and unforgettable. They made our intimate wedding have all the buzz of a bigger event, and Krystyna handled EVERYTHING so effortlessly that we could just enjoy every moment of our big day! The venue looked fab, the food was lush, the barn was the perfect space for our wedding. And the rooms had all the quirk of an older building and were comfortable and warm. If you’re considering a wedding at The Talbot, then definitely put it to the top of your list - it was incredible! And what’s better, our little dog Moose was invited to the whole event and even had a room for the night! We can’t thank you all enough!

Last August we booked a double room for a wedding we are attending in May. Today they have cancelled our room booking. I suspect they have discovered they can get a better price from other wedding guests now that demand has increased. If I'm right then this is immoral greed.
