    We held our wedding reception (Walima) in June 2024 in the Garden Suite at Gorse Hill Hotel and it was one of the best decisions made. We initially visited it at the start of our search and months later having not found any other venue which ticked all the boxes we came back and confirmed our booking. It has everything you need from the gardens (which in the Spring just looked stunning though we were blessed to have good weather on the day), bridal getting ready suite and overnight stays, an outdoor marquee area and the venue itself (both the hotel and the Garden Suite) are very elegant. My point of contact was Belinda who was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the process. She went out of her way to answer all queries promptly and made the process as smooth as possible for us. Belinda had even requested the in-house head chef who very kindly put together a South Asian style menu for us if we wanted to get the catering in-house. We had gone for dry hire and they were very flexible with our chosen caterers and decorators. If you get the right decorators they can help to create a perfect setup and stage for photos in the main ballroom along with the banqueting tablets and with the view out into the garden all the way around the room it just looks spectacular. All the guests had a great time and were full of praises. I cannot recommend the venue highly enough!

    We attended a black tie private event here and stayed in their deluxe double room. The room was nicely furnished, however the bed was two smaller beds pushed together with a cover over the top. Breakfast was very tasty. Nice mix of continental/self-serve and cooked options.

    Really beautiful grounds and location. Staff can't do enough for you. 5 star location. Sorry 1 star rooms. Very clean but more basic that a premier inn and at nearly 500 for two nights with no breakfast or dinner included is so far overpriced? Rooms have little to no drawer space. No fridge. Little to no choice of coffee or tea selection and not even a basic pack of biscuits. No fresh water. If you are not worried about the basics of the accommodation then fully recommend for location and staff. But sorry not at those exorbitant prices for absolutely no room facilities. Lipstick on cups from previous customers. Perhaps a bit busy cleaning rooms. Although I would definitely want to come back on a regular basis I am hesitant over the high priced aspect. I booked this as a high quality stay. Absolutely a wonderful place for weddings and receptions with gorgeous garden and location aspects. But please management upgrade your room facilities to the same high standard the price suggests and for the price we paid would have expected a lot better. I'm sure you will take notice of reviews and hope mine has been as fair as possible Look forward to hearing of the possibility of improvement for next stay please . Change of review. Price did include food package so hopefully difference will be refunded. Can not fault the staff they deserve 6 stars. Room still poor. But much happier now Unfortunately the hotel has made no offer of refund for service not provided. It appears they will do anything to keep hold of the overpayment of £230 for food not provided. Based on above I leave it to you to decide the integrity of the place
