I recently broke down on a journey from London to Somerset, the AA took me to the safety of the car park of this hotel just off the A303 at approx 3pm. I had two young grandchildren with me. The AA man dismantled parts of my engine, organised for a fuel injector to be fitted ‘within the hour’ never to be seen again. Just occasional messages advising that they were delayed. I advised hotel reception that I was there and the gentleman was very kind, offering for the children to use the play area or for us to use the bar area. I was still there at 7pm. Still no sign of the AA, hotel staff were made aware that I was still there by my daughter from her home in London, as I’d had to ask her to keep calling the AA due to my phone battery dying . The gentleman checked on us, going above and beyond to ensure that we had food and water etc, even checking on us before he retired for the night . We were finally ‘recovered’ at 10pm, by which time it was dark and I had two very tired grandchildren with me. Nothing was too much trouble for the member of staff concerned for which I will be eternally grateful. I cannot praise him enough. What a fabulous hotel this must be to stay at.

Came and stayed for a wedding. Pro's: -Wedding ran like clockwork. -Beautifully prepared rooms and grounds. -Dog friendly. There were two gorgeous dogs on the staff team when we stayed. They kept us all safe and reminded us that life is good. -Human staff were also wonderful. -The food is excellent. -Mattress was very comfortable. -General cleanliness was good. -Lovely gardens. Cons: - Needs a lick of paint and some fixtures and fittings need updating or repairing (ceiling panels, trims, old artex ceilings etc). - Showerhead holder was broken; when we turned the shower on, the thing flew around the room spraying everything like in a cartoon 😂 (although; bonus points for good water pressure 🚿 ) and the shower screen wasn't effective. - Thin walls, poor acoustic 👂 dampening. - No power outlets by the bed.

Stayed at Grey Manor for a wedding. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, Rooms were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms might need a little freshen up. The hotel has two rather large huskys. I'm actually not comfortable around dogs at all, usually quite scared, but these two dogs were the most chilled dogs I've ever seen. The white husky may come up to say hello, but both dogs are placid and are very used to having people around that they basically ignored us. I had to mention something about this, because I was really anxious about it before getting to the hotel, so this is for anyone who isn't a fan of dogs or scared of them....I would stay here again😊
