Wakehurst, the Royal Botanic Garden Kew’s country estate in Sussex provides over 500 acres of fairy tale woodlands offering stunning backdrops and vibrant displays in the shape of our ‘wedding dress and candy floss trees’ to build your own personal and treasured wedding day memories. A story board to look back on for all your family and friends.
Manicured lawns are overlooked by the romantic mansion dating back to the 16th century and owned by Lord and Lady Price - yours exclusively for the day. The venue of choice by the majority of our couples, it can accommodate the more intimate of weddings (from 10 guests) and offers traditional grandeur whilst retaining the warmth of a ‘home from home’ for family and friends to celebrate the most special of days.
Alternatively the striking and contemporary displays housed in the Millennium Seed Bank ‘glasshouse’ offers a globally unique setting for a larger wedding breakfast. With pre-breakfast drinks taken on the terraces one can trickle one’s fingers through the fish filled ponds and parterres whilst partaking in a glass or two of fizz!
There is also the option to have your own bespoke marquee built and command centre stage on the heart of Croquet Lawn. With panoramic windows offering stunning views towards the Mansion, the Croquet Lawn provides for pre-breakfast drinks and perhaps a few garden games, as well as photo opportunities in the Wisteria clad gazebo.
With the combination of our experienced on site team and a selection of established special events caterers we will work with you to deliver a seamless day from beginning to end and one to remember forever.

A beautiful location, impressive stately home (currently undergoing renovation so you can't go inside) and magnificent landscaped grounds with a Japanese influence. We took the one hour guided tour ( no extra charge) and found the guide really knowledgeable and made the experience so much more interesting. There's a large restaurant inside and a coffee shop at the entrance. If you're a National Trust member entrance is free but there is a £12 daily car parking fee. Well worth a visit.

Great place to visit. Truly amazing gardens, landscaping, and biodiversity. Lots of activities for kids and ample space to walk and explore for hours. I Reccomend at least a whole day to see it all. The seed bank is a very interesting addition. The house and restaurant are excellent. The shop has a great selection of what you'd expect at a venue like this. National trust members get free access, though they have to pay for parking. Worth joining as a member if you plan to attend often.

As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by lovely staff who were very helpful. The kids loved the trail and are looking forward for the next one. Even though it was raining, we enjoyed the walk and the autumn colors were truly beautiful. At the end of the trip we were amazed by a big rainbow just outside the parking.

Spectacular gardens. We went mid-october and a lot of the leaves were changing color, which was just beautiful. It's a huge property with lots to see. It is less controlled and manicured than the Kew Gardens, but I think that is part of the charm. A large section of the gardens are open forest with giant trees and wooded paths. It was just a beautiful day and I had a great time walking around and enjoying the gardens.

The gardens at Wakehurst are so varied and beautiful. If your timing is right, it is fabulous to walk around the lake in the Loder Valley Reserve. Likewise, as you reach the entrance to the valley, you can alternatively walk around Wes. wood Lake, which is to your right-hand side. I always take time to find a bench to sit a while and enjoy the silence and reflections on the lake surface. On the way back to the exit, try Bethlehem Wood and Himalayan Garden. Stables Kitchen is a top spot to re fuel after your long walk. Great food, snacks, soups, coffee & cakes. Finally, take a good look around their first class gift shop and garden centre, you won't be disappointed.
