The journey with the ferry took around 30 minutes from Wemyss Bay to Bute island , I enjoyed it throughout. Getting on and off was seamless. It takes around 12 minutes to drive to get there. Mount Stuart is massive. I spent most of the time hiking by the beach .

Oh my! Nothing prepared me for how beautiful this place is 😍. The house is a masterpiece and from now on I will be forever wanting an en -suite conservatory 🌿. My neck is still hurting from looking up at the ceilings. The guides are fantastic, there's one in every room and their knowledge and enthusiasm shine out. The gardens are also wonderful. A must see on the island.

The inside of the house really took my breath away, the level of detail and pure grandeur is incredible. The gardens are nice, and I recommend them, but don't miss out on going in the house if you visit - you won't regret it! It's a self guided tour but there are staff in all the rooms who will enthusiastically and engagingly tell you all about the Incredible house, from its history to interesting details to spot. No visit to Bute is complete without a trip here!

Fantastic, well maintained estate. The house is incredible and a great way to spend an hour. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Beyond the house are great outdoor areas to explore including gardens and a beach. Great for families and picnics. The on site cafe has a good selection and it's reasonably priced. Bonus if you agree to gift aid on your ticket ( UK residents only) you can visit again for the whole year.
