Excellent full service hotel at budget prices. I initially booked for 3 nights in a King room for an exceptionally good value rate. I ended up having to extend my stay by a further 3 nights due to bad weather, and whilst the rate was much higher, it was over the weekend and still the cheapest hotel around. The hotel is located in Gateshead, uphill from the Quayside and Millennium Bridge in what is a very hilly area. However, I found accessibility to be very good by public transport from Newcastle station with frequent buses running circular in two directions. Whilst the walk to the centre of Gateshead for the nearest shops isn’t hugely attractive with lots of nearby areas still under construction, it’s doable and there are some chain restaurants in that area as well as a large supermarket. Most people would more likely venture into the city centre for food and nightlife however. It is also very ideally located for The Glasshouse venue. Check in and out was very easy and I found the staff to be uniformly very friendly and very helpful. The King Room I stayed in was of a very good standard, the King was made up of two singles but both were very wide singles and the mattress was comfortable. There was an iron and ironing board in the room along with a hairdryer and the usual tea and coffee making facilities. WiFi was excellent. The bathroom was of a very decent size. The shower had good water pressure and hot water came quickly and consistently. Housekeeping is daily unless you indicate otherwise using the do not disturb sign. Overall, I found the hotel to be relaxed, quiet and given it was superb value, would certainly look at first to stay in the area in the future.

Stayed for one night with my husband and we had a fabulous experience at this hotel. The room was immaculate, massive double bed, walk in shower. Had everything you needed including iron and ironing board. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. Great location to the city centre. We had a little mishap when we got to the train station as my husband realised he didn't have his car keys! So a quick call to the hotel to see if anyone had found them. They had so he had to go back and collect them! We would definitely go back there on next visit.

Facilities like the gym have not been cleaned and or updated in ages. I pulled dirt off of the equipment just from normal use. Also needs to be updated. Rest of the hotel is quite the same, mediocre dinning room, mediocre coffee, mediocre service. The rooms are outdated. The curtains felt like something I would've expected 15 years ago. There was an unusual smell of like damp in the room but I kept the window open and it was fine. The one thing good I'll have to say is the rooms are cleaned regularly and staff are friendly.

Not badly located, needs freshening up. I’ve never seen so much dust in a room maybe clean it. Plumbing sounds like it’s possessed. Poisoned by the vegan sausages and breakfast is a free for all and the foods awful
