A lovely stay at The Edwardian. The room was nice and clean, with all amenities needed for a weekend away. The general spaces were impressive, with great views across the city too. The pool facility was included in our booking, and this was a true delight. We went for an hour from 5-6pm and 9-10am and both slots were quite busy, but not unpleasantly so. Some guests didn't quite understand the vibe of the spa/pool/sauna space (one did a bomb into the pool), but they didn't stay long! Again there facilities were spotlessly clean, and well supplied. They had an accessible changing room which was a positive thing. The staff were helpful, and check in was nice and simple. Having arrived too early we were able to leave our bags with the concierge, which was handy. It's in a great location for visiting Manchester city centre, although parking options nearby are rather costly/poor.

Long wait for check in. Was told I needed to book if I wanted to use the pool, which I couldn't do as I didn't know when I had time. The room was a nice size and well equipped. The WiFi works really well, fast enough to work from the desk in the room. The breakfast buffet had good options, but when I interrupted the servers chatting to ask for some tomato sauce I was told it would be replenished. It wasn't and a further request didn't make a difference. I also wasn't offered tea or coffee. In general staff seem disinterested, and at a hotel like this they make all the difference.

Terrible costumer services… I had to wait 20+ minutes to find someone to check in… and when checking in they charged me twice. My company booked online through Egencia but their system did not show that… I’m still waiting to be refunded… absolutely terrible. Rooms are below expectations for a 5 star hotel However, breakfast is very good, that raised the review to 2 stars. If you are travelling for business I would strongly NOT recommend it

The only nice thing about this hotel is the spa. The rooms are ridiculous; I have seen better in a three-star hotel! It's embarrassing—a plastic toilet seat. What is this: a campsite? The bed was very uncomfortable and had only two pillows? Only blackout curtains (that did not do a great job), so you either stay in the dark or have the eyes of the many neighbors! Everything was dated and deteriorated! To top it all off, I was surprisingly charged for the cost of the room when it had already been paid. Not a five-star experience
