If you are looking for something a little different we pride ourselves on being able to offer exciting wedding packages, at a range of historic venues, at The University of Manchester. 

The Christie's Bistro is a room which is full of the University’s history and provides a stunning backdrop to any wedding. Equally impressive as the building is it set within, its secluded setting is ideal for the more intimate weddings of up to 140 guests. The Bistro was built in 1890, and orginally was used as the new Study of Education - the Christie's Library. It was a donation from the former law professor, historian and bibliophile Richard Copley Christie - whom you can now see in our fantastic stained glass windows lining the stone staircase to the main entrance.  One hundred years later, after the building of the main University of Manchester Library, the Christie Science Library was converted into a Bistro, steeped in the institution’s history and character, with portraits of previous Vice-Chancellors gracing the walls and endless rows of original books and manuscripts. 

Service is paramount to us, attention to detail and personal touches are second nature. Our dedicated and experienced Hospitality and Events team are at hand every step of the way to ensure peace of mind with every detail, so that your day is everything you ever wished for.

Our team of classically trained chefs are devoted to sourcing the finest fresh local produce and creating menus with an emphasis on quality and great taste – as well as providing something a little different. Our menus offer excellent variety and, coupled with our extensive wine lists, provide the perfect dining experience. Our experienced wedding team will ensure the hospitality and catering throughout your day are perfect in every way.
