21 Portland Place, the home of the AAGBI was built in 1776 and is an elegant 18th century listed building, originally built on the 'Grandest Street in London'. It is a Grade II listed building, and contains a wealth of attractive features. Particular fine examples are the ceilings of the main rooms - the Portex and the Intavent Suite - which incorporate ornate moldings and paintings into their design. The house was bought by the AAGBI in 2002 and has been modernised to create a fully functioning office and meeting venue whilst respecting the beauty of the building.
The Ellis Room is situated on the ground floor close to the reception, next door to the Portex Room. This bright room can accommodate up to 10 people boardroom style. Featuring AV facilities, including a 55 inch LCD screen with HDMI and VGA connectivity, web and teleconferencing facilities, The Ellis Room is ideal for small training, conference or team meetings.
