Taking pride of place along Lea Bridge Road, overlooking the River Lea, The Princess of Wales is a gem not to be missed. With a beautiful beer garden, perfect for lazy summer Sunday’s, an ample beer and wine selection and the best menu in Clapton, featuring innovative, home grown recipes there’s no better place to be. It’s a home away from home, giving you the feeling of being in the idyllic countryside, rather than the heart of Hackney!
Whatever your event we’ve got the space, the style and the expertise to make it a go with a bang. A birthday party to remember with the bubbly flowing and canapés circulating? No problem. An engagement bash with a tempting buffet and fine wine flowing? We love them. Dinner with the family or a leaving do for a team member you wish would stay?
Our dining area is the perfect space for all your casual events needs, from a sit down meal for up to 40 people or a drinks and nibbles party, there’s no better space. With plenty of room for all the gang, there’s no time like the present to enquire about any event!

An absolute gem of a pub, fantastic riverside location, great Youngs Ales and food of the highest standard. The fish and chips were the best I've had for ages! Highly recommended and the team are very friendly 10/10 xx

We had a delightful Christmas lunch at the Princess of Wales pub. The atmosphere was warm and festive, perfect for the holiday season. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the cozy vibe. The meal itself was a traditional Christmas feast, with all the trimmings. The turkey was perfectly cooked, moist and flavorful. Accompaniments like the roasted potatoes, vegetables, and rich gravy complemented it well. The highlight was the Christmas pudding, a perfect end to the meal. Overall, a wonderful experience that combined great food with a festive ambiance.
