There’s something very full circle about this Ivy site, which is the second to possess the ‘Garden’ moniker after The Ivy Chelsea Garden. It was Vintage Salt under previous tenant Des McDonald, who himself used to be head chef at – you guessed it – The Ivy. Located right by Liverpool Street station in serene Bishopsgate Gardens, the space incorporates a restaurant, bar, private dining room and the namesake garden, all decked out in the brand’s well-groomed, colourful interiors. A long, cuisine-leaping menu features everything from the famous shepherd’s pie to tuna carpaccio; ask one of the one-the-ball waiters for advice if you’re stumped what to order. We’d recommend prawn tempura pepped up with a matcha tea sauce and sprinklings of green papaya, edamame beans and cucumber shavings, and a generously portioned main of perfectly-cooked lobster with a side of rich truffle-and-parmesan-topped thick-cut chips. Dessert was a real showstopper, a chocolate bombe on a bed of milk foam, soft vanilla ice cream and sticky-sweet shards of honeycomb, melted at the table with a hot salted-caramel sauce. Vibrant surrounds (including a DJ) help this incarnation of The Ivy keep up with its younger City counterparts, and for big groups there’s a 32-cover private dining room upstairs which overlooks the garden.

Went here for our company Christmas do and it was a perfect experience. We were very well looked after even though the restaurant was very busy. The food we had was lovely, the steak was cooked to perfection! I couldn't fault anything.

Booked here for my partner's birthday, we were welcomed at the door and our coats taken to be hung up. The restaurant was fairly full and had a great atmosphere. Our waitress came along promptly, introduced herself & asked if we wanted water for the table. Gave us time to look at the menu before ordering. My partner had the Asian Duck salad followed by the pork schnitzel and I had the mozzarella followed by the Tuna, we ordered green beans, broccoli spears and mash to go with them. The food was well presented and very tasty...we were too full for desserts. Highly recommend this restaurant

Waited a few weeks to share this... Christmas menu was pretty spot on - the fried squid was a bit disappointing, but the first time I've had it present like that. Wasabi mayo was good - turkey, really tasty. I only ordered it for festive reasons and it kicked my expectations out the door. Perfect balance with cranberry sauce. I thought the main was a bit small, but really nice. - the snowman. Just get it. Worth the surcharge, fun, satisfying and gorgeous. Service was really nice. Though apparently the service charge doesn't get given to the staff? The reception staff were a bit clinical and cold, I saw people waiting like tools a bit for awhile. So that might spoil the experience. In general, beautiful and elegant venue

Let's say Ivy is always a safe choice. Warm colourful interior, very nice & attentive staff and good selection of food, wines, cocktails... All dishes look great but missing a bit of extra touch in regards to the taste. Paid 30£ for a blackened cod fillet with green beans. No salt or pepper on it, nothing special really.

Last nights dinner mid rare steaks cook mid well just under £30 each just the steak no sauce no chips. Our starter plate cleared and steak arrive straight away so they know something is up, but no check back till we just eaten them no waiter to top up wine. End up playing £166 plus service for two courses and a bottle of wine with both steak way over cooked with no Seasoning. To be far when we complained they took the 2 cocktails off the bill, but date was ruin girlfriend well upset. I mean look at the pic of the green beans you can see not much love going on in that cooking feel ripped off. poor avoid
