August 2024An absolutely beautiful place! I came here for the first time for my graduation ceremony and I loved it, the way the graduation ceremony works inside is very straightforward and there is staff everywhere to assist, I found it very easy to navigate and had such a fantastic time. On Tuesday when I came it was 30°c and sunny! Was so lovely seeing the Barbican Centre in the sunshine, I love the brutalist architecture and how well maintained the grounds is, the different areas you can visit are so relaxing, I love the parts near the water as it’s just so gorgeous and the water looks lovely. I will definitely be coming here again for different events and even just to sit by the water, the brutalist style waterfall was beautiful to look at too, who would’ve thought those 1970s buildings could look so pretty?

June 2024Well, I believe these must be the most expensive council houses in London and the entire UK. It’s a very odd and interesting place at the same time. It reminds me of USSR architecture—strong, bold, and brutal Obviously a must-visit place. P.S. The Chris Botti concert was terrific!

June 2024We saw Kiss Me Kate. This is a hilarious high octain giod old fashioned Broadway musical. Absolutely faultless. Huge cast and great orchestra. Only on for the summer. So grab a seat while you can.

June 2024Built after the Blitz, the brutalist architecture is a scar in the heart of London. A labyrinth of concrete, ugly, dark, and horrible to look at! It has two art galleries, two theatres, three cinemas, a concert hall and a tropical conservatory, a Bar (Martini Bar), and 3 restaurants: The Barbican Kitchen is located on the ground floor; the prices are acceptable, but no quality. Is a caffè which serves food. The Barbican Bar & Grill is located on level 1, where you can have an expensive Burger, a couple of salads, and plant-based food. And the Barbican Brasserie, located on level 2. You can have a 2-course meal for around 30£, or a 3-course meal for circa 35£. The menu is very limited, you need to book in advance and is not up to the price. My advice: Eat before you go! You can have a drink outside when the weather is nice. The artificial lake is the only decent place in that architectural monstrosity and gives you a sense of relaxation. A bit like a tree in the desert... The concert hall has a great acoustic and throughout the year several of the greatest names in the musical universe perform there. I go quite often! Lately, I've been privileged to watch Herbie Hancock, Kodo (Japanese drums) and Sérgio Mendes... Despite the quality of most of the shows, the space outside the auditorium is depressing: dark and cold. The tip is: Don't go too early!
