Brilliant location if you are attending an event at M&S Bank Arena, literally a 1 minute walk! Very welcoming and friendly staff throughout the hotel. The lobby, bar and corridors were very clean and the room itself was spotless, nothing to fault at all. Our sea view room had a fab view of the Mersey where my husband and I happily watched boats up and down in the morning whilst having a coffee before we checked out.

Stayed for one night on 24th October. Friendly at arrival along with a clean room and great view. Not very user friendly for my wife in the morning due to a lack of suitable area to do hair/makeup. Bathroom had a sliding door right by the bed. A bright beam was emitted when switching on the light and then sliding door closed, which woke me up. A cord within the bathroom would be better. The breakfast was 9/10 - huge choice, plenty of seating and very tasty. Lost one point as the black pudding was akin to a piece of wood. Still - would definitely return should the mood take us.

Everything was first class, we had dinner on both Friday and Sunday night and the food and service were exceptional. Breakfast is excellent with a great choice for both cooked and continental. All the staff that encountered were welcoming and friendly. Very comfortable beds with a choice of pillows.

On arrival, the wonderful concierge greeted us. He was very pleasant and helpful and gave a lovely first impression of the hotel. Unfortunately, when checking in, we were told that our room was not ready and asked to sit in the bar/reception area and wait. We were waiting for half an hour. After travelling and carrying our luggage, we just wanted to get in to our room and settle. Our room and bathroom was beautiful, the view was fantastic. The bed was huge and comfortable. The shower was fabulous! The coffee and tea tray was lacking and wasn't refilled for our second day, so we only had one cup of tea each during our two night stay. Breakfast was delicious. It was fresh and there was lots of choice including many fruit juices. The man who seated us was a little frosty, but that was a minor issue. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will return.
