What a wonderful hotel. We stayed here to go to a concert over the road (literally) in the Philharmonic. Everything was perfect. The beds were comfy, great quality linens, lovely towels, lots of nice bathroom toiletries. Everything is thought about, and you can tell. The light switches are positioned just right by the bed, dimmable lights in the bathroom, just right for a relaxing bath, the blackout blinds with blackout curtains as well, waters in the room in glass bottles not plastic, Lots of choice on the hospitality tray - the room was lovely. Oh and it has soundproofing, so no noise from next doors TV or whatever. The breakfast was top quality. The chefs are in the breakfast room and plate up whatever you want to eat. All the staff were obviously well trained. They were efficient and friendly, with nice clean uniforms (I've stayed in hotels where the staff look like they need to use a washing machine...) I can't fault the hotel to be honest. I will stay there again without a doubt, it's super.

A Mixed Bag of Luxury and Letdowns Location: 4/5 Hope Street Hotel boasts an excellent central location, which is a significant plus point. It's conveniently situated for exploring the city, offering easy access to local attractions and amenities. Room: 3/5 We stayed in the rooftop, priced at a premium £725. While the room was spacious with nice views, it fell short in some areas: - No mini-bar, an unexpected omission for a luxury room - Bathroom mirror light was non-functional, impacting the overall functionality and ambiance These issues, especially the bathroom light, detract from the luxury experience one expects at this price point. Service: 3.5/5 The service experience was mixed: - Reception staff came across as somewhat rude, setting a poor initial impression - Breakfast service was disappointing, with staff seeming indifferent - Room service was a bright spot, with both the food quality and customer service being commendable The contrast in service quality across different areas of the hotel was notable and somewhat perplexing. Dining: 3/5 - Breakfast, priced at £15.5 per head, felt overpriced for the quality and service provided - Room service from the 19 restaurant was excellent, offering good food and attentive service The disparity between the breakfast experience and room service was significant. Noise: 1/5 A major issue was the unexpected noise from a wedding party, with music blasting until 1 AM. For a hotel in this price range, better sound insulation or at least prior warning about such events should be standard. Value for Money: 2/5 At £725 for the rooftop and £35 per person for food at restaurants, Hope Street Hotel struggles to justify its high rates: - Some luxury amenities were missing or non-functional (e.g., mini-bar, bathroom light) - Inconsistent service quality - Unexpected noise issues - However, the excellent location and quality room service partially offset these negatives Overall: 3/5 Hope Street Hotel offers a mix of highs and lows. Its prime location and excellent room service are commendable. However, these positives are overshadowed by inconsistent service, some functional issues in the room, and unexpected noise disturbances. For the premium rates charged, guests should expect a more polished and consistent experience. The hotel needs to address these issues to truly align with its luxury positioning and price point.

I have been staying here for a few days and was dissatisfied and disappointed. The king room had two single beds pushed together and the void in the middle made my sleep uncomfortable. I told the receptionist on my second day but it was not put right . The room was dusty and missed attention to detail, with building rubble under the bathroom sink . I raised the issues with the manager and was responded to it with an apology and a stare. If she had resolved this complaint at the time to my satisfaction, I would not be left with this memory of poor customer service and bad experience from Hope street Hotel and I would not be leaving a negative review. On a positive note - the restaurant food was very good.

Stayed here recently and was quite disappointed, it’s no better than a travel lodge. We really wanted to love this hotel especially as we were looking forward to the spa. Sadly half the jets weren’t working in the outdoor hot tub, some of the amenities were out of order and it was just pretty small with not a lot going on. The rooms were fine, but that’s all, squeaky beds, lots of noise from the street, and worst of all, absolutely freezing, I woke up in the early hours and couldn’t feel my fingers. Even having had the heating on as high as possible, it was hardly putting anything out, paired with the draft from the balcony door we had no chance. The only saving grace for this place was their breakfast, wonderful chef and a lovely array of high quality options.
