Our warm and welcoming brasserie and pub in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, harks back to its roots as a coaching inn. There are cosy nooks aplenty for a quiet pint, as well as a beautiful airy restaurant for dining.
We are famous for our monthly changing set menu, as well as our extensive a la carte selection and our fabulous party menus. Our chefs cook everything from scratch in the open kitchen (which also adds a little theatre to the proceedings). In the summer months, our hidden courtyard is the perfect suntrap for al fresco dining with a chilled glass of our bespoke bubbly.
We really are proud of the diversity our pub offers and we cater for numerous special occasions including wedding receptions, birthday parties, corporate events and much more... we look forward to discovering in which and how many of the ways that the Highwayman will become your perfect fit.

February 2025Have been here a couple of times now with my boyfriend, and we always really look forwards to it because of the absolutely delicious food. It’s on the slightly more expensive side in Berkhamsted but is totally worth it for a special occasion. The restaurant is separated from the bar and has a nice quiet atmosphere. Also very friendly, helpful service.
