We were a party of four for afternoon tea. I was expecting some sandwiches, cakes and a cup of tea, but was treated to a feast of savoury and sweet treats served with pots of tea and sparkling English wine. The friendly staff were excellent, making us feel very welcome and spoilt for a couple of hours.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner in the Avenue restaurant. Extra special tasting the superb cooking of last year's MasterChef winner! Everything was just lovely.

Beautiful afternoon tea served in the drawing room - interesting and tasty savoury options with more offered & lovely tasting scones. The patisserie was amazing too. We also had some nibbles and drinks on the terrace which was delightful. The house itself and setting are stunning and we cannot wait to return

Highly recommend Lainston House as a wedding venue: The setting is beautiful and can cater for varying group sizes. The food is excellent, with a good range of choice, and caters for dietary requirements. The service, both in terms of the planning and on the day was consistently fantastic: Flexible, friendly and well-organised

Had the set menu from the Masterchef guy. Excellent prawn starter and beef. Food service good. Drinks service pre meal was far too slow … no idea why there were more than enough staff. Took 20 mins to put in first drinks order! Lack of attention to wine order and follow up order… got the starters before the wine arrived. Expected more on drinks service front given the price. Ample wine list
