August 2024The stars of this hotel are the staff. So incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, helpful and passionate about their work. I did not see name badges to thank any personally, but, to be honest, everyone was just lovely. This makes this hotel very special!

June 2024The hotel room is clean and tidy. Nice big bed. The room has everything you need. The staff are great. Very friendly and helpful. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Drinks in the bar are expensive though. Lots of places to eat within walking distance.

September 2024We booked up for an afternoon cream tea which was a gift for us through Buyagift. Awful experience! Unattentive, miserable and rude staff, kept disappearing so no one around to ask questions. We felt that being there was an inconvience for them, although only one other table was taken in the restaurant. The food wasn't great. Portion sizes were dire, especially the sandwiches. The scones were doughy. We were charged for our hot drinks which I later looked into, and they should have been included within the cream tea. I emailed and complained about our experience and got no response. Shocking way to treat customers! Thanks Forest Lodge for ruining our day out at the New Forest

August 2024Cream Tea .went to this hotel yesterday for a cream tea. The food and setting were quite good but sadly the service was awful . We were seated and a pot of tea brought out to us 20 minutes before the food so it was cold when it arrived - no explanation of what the food entailed and despite me having phoned the day before to state that I have a severe salmon allergy I was presented with a salmon sandwich ! At the end of the meal we noticed a menu sitting on another table which mentioned the ingredients but we weren’t notified of its existence . The waiter gave no information and didn’t engage with us at all and I got a very desultory apology for the sandwich .
