My friend and I had a lovely afternoon tea here today. The staff we're really welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food was good and the restaurant was beautiful and had nice music playing. We we're surprised to see we were the only guests there as the atmosphere was lovely and our experience was great. I noticed they offer Sunday roasts and plan to attend in a few weeks with my husband. Right opposite the sea also, so great to have a nice walk afterwards. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

Had afternoon tea which was so good everything was eaten! There was a good selection of fresh sandwiches, warm fruit and plain scones with cream and jam, an abundance of cakes and a dessert. We were the only people eating at this time which meant hearing each other was no problem. There was background music playing but this was not intrusive. The service was good and staff were friendly and attentive. Definately somewhere to go back to.

We stayed a week and enjoyed the breakfast and service, especially in the late night bar that has relaxing seats and ambiance. Breakfast was a little limited in vegetarian options until my brother asked if there were options and we found out they do indeed serve vegan sausages, but only on request. Room was a little 'tired' but comfortable, our only challenge was warm weather when we arrived which due to the radiator being on in the room made is a difficult first night (even though we turned off the radiator) - the fans that was in the closet was full of dust bunnies when we turned it on... I suggest cleaning those out! Overall a good stay, but there are probably a few touch ups to the hotel needed to bring it up to 5-stars, plus some better fans for those rare British summers.

Disappointing Stay - Cold Room and Discriminatory Treatment We stayed at this hotel for a weekend in December with our two young children in a family room. While the room itself was adequate in terms of size and basic amenities, several issues made our stay very uncomfortable. The main problem was the temperature. The room was extremely cold upon arrival, with only a small electric heater provided that was insufficient for heating two rooms and a bathroom. We later discovered the radiators needed to be manually turned on - something that should have been communicated at check-in. Due to the cold, we couldn't even use the shower facilities, fearing our young children might get ill. What's particularly frustrating is that the staff had called to confirm our arrival time, yet the room wasn't properly prepared with basic heating in December. While most of the non-British staff were friendly and professional, we experienced uncomfortable discriminatory treatment from certain British staff members (the night porter and breakfast staff), who displayed visible disdain towards non-British guests. Positives: - Decent room size for a family - Good location - Friendly non-British staff Negatives: - Very cold room with inadequate heating - Poor communication about room facilities - Discriminatory treatment from some staff members - Unusable bathroom due to temperature - Lack of proper room preparation despite confirming arrival I cannot recommend this hotel for families, especially during colder months. The combination of physical discomfort and discriminatory treatment made for an unpleasant stay.
