We had a lovely stay and hope to return soon! Chris on the door was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived, a very warm welcome. The reception team and all of the staff in the bar area and at breakfast time were attentive and personable. The hotel itself was beautiful and well kept; it was spotless too. There was plenty of choice with cocktails with knowledgeable staff. There was also a good selection for breakfast. We did take advantage of room service during our stay which was easy to order and arrived in good time. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable.

Very lovely hotel in an excellent position. Service was exceptional. We had breakfast each morning which was delicious: a choice on continental plus a reasonable choice of cooked options, all freshly cooked. I’d suggest booking an early breakfast slot - we picked 8.30 which was perfect but people seemed to be queuing to get in when we left. The car park is small but one of our party had a disabled badge and we were in an EV which we had informed the hotel of well in advance and as a result we were allocated an EV charging point/space for the time we were there which was sectioned off and ready for us when we arrived. Helpful and informative porters on hand. Lift to all floors. We had a twin room - however the beds, whilst being very comfortable, are touching so you need to be quite friendly with your travel companion. Room was a good size with coffee machine, kettle & tea facilities, biscuits, a mini fridge, robes, slippers, safe etc. good size bathroom with a walk in shower. Everything spotlessly clean. There is an outside pool which is a good temperature and I should imagine beautiful to sit around on a nice sunny day (sadly the sun was a bit rare on our weekend so we didn’t get to enjoy fully). Indoor is another pool, hot tub & steam room. The pool area could do with a little bit of TLC - a few tiles around the edge need replacing, some flaking paint and a roof tile missing plus the costume spinner is currently out of order and has been removed. There is also a gym with running machines and weights etc but we did not use. All in all very happy with our stay & would definitely recommend.

The best sea view I've ever had from our room (302). On the edge of town so nice and quiet. The outdoor pool was lovely and warm - even in the rain! The hotel looks classic and formal but is actually very relaxed. Service was impeccable and unobtrusive throughout. Thank you to the lovely man who helped me find a parking space, and for the very civilised late check out.

This was a present to my wife and I for our anniversary. Amazing sea view from our 3rd floor room. David the concergirge was really helpful - He needs a pay rise to make sure he stays at the Grand. Restaurant was quiet when we had dinner, about 7.00pm. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, we had an excellent meal and are looking forward to the next meal. On the face of it, the costs seem a little high, but as soon as you take into account the meals (we booked bed, breakfast and dinner), it looks very competitive. Not cheap, but very good value. I've marked the rooms as 4 star, but in fact, it's more like 4 1/2 stars. They are well presented, clean and tidy as you would expect. The loss of half a star is my personal impression that the rooms are a little traditional. Having said that, they are in keeping with the rest of the building. Well done to the Grand Hotel, you have a very satisfied client, we will be back soon.

A wonderful few days away. Superb location! Very helpful, friendly staff, beautiful room, food and drinks delicious. The room was serviced regularly to a very high standard. Service at breakfast occasionally slow and a couple of mix-ups soon put right. Pool and pool area small and changing rooms a bit untidy. Didn't use the treatment rooms as they were fully booked. Concierge deserves a special mention, went above and beyond, as did the bar staff. Very knowledgeable. Delicious cocktails! Overall a very enjoyable stay, would definitely recommend.
